While speaking to far-left political commentator David Packman, New York Governor Kathy Hochul committed to obstructing President Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda by promising to prevent New York State police from cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). When a clip of her freak-out was posted to X, conservative commentators reacted by calling for the Democrat’s arrest, citing laws which ban state officials from disobeying federal mandates.
For context, her remarks align with New York’s longstanding sanctuary policies, which include a 2017 executive order limiting state cooperation with ICE and a 2020 law banning ICE arrests in courthouses. This radical stance has brought her into conflict with the President and Tom Homan, the Border Czar, who want to keep America’s border safe.
Such was shown in her March 23, 2025, interview, Governor Kathy Hochul promised to undermine the president’s authority. She said, “We’re not going to allow this mass deportation, where, where we will cooperate. And I did this even under the Biden administration. If you have a warrant, or you know someone’s on a terrorism watch list or committing crimes in their home country or committing crimes here, that’s a different category.”
Seemingly moderating her radical views, she offered a few exceptions. Hochul said, “I will help you with those to protect everyone, whether the newly arriving New Yorkers or where they’ve lived here their entire lives. So that’s really clear to me, but don’t bleed over into going to schools and sensitive places.”
Pivoting back to her far-left beliefs, she attacked the few counties in her state that are committed to border security. The governor added, “So our state policy, our state law, does not allow for our state police to be involved in those situations. Now what we have are some renegade counties in New York because individual counties can sign a pact with ICE, and we have a lot of them, some on Long Island, some in upstate New York, where there’s different political views.”
Concluding her remarks, Hochul confirmed that she would allow the state police, which is controlled by the governor’s office, to aid ICE. She said, “They are cooperating with their local police departments, but what I control is the state police, and they will not cooperate in that.”

Conservatives were incensed with her insurrection and expressed their anger in the comments under the clip. Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) posted a popular reply which read, “Does this border on treason? Or is it insurrection?” Jeremy Karl, who works at the Clairmont Institute, a conservative think tank, said, “A lot of people, including elected officials, are going to have to go to prison if the rule of law is going to be restored in America.”
Among the comments, others drew attention to Kathy Hochul’s disregard for federal law. One of these replies read, “Please oh please interfere with the federal government and their enforcement of federal law I beg of you to stand up and get in the way 😂.”
The productive ones are fleeing instead. New York State had a peak number of 45 seats in Congress after the 1940 census, held onto 39 through the 1970s, is now at 26, and is expected to lose two more in 2030.
If not for immigration, both legal and illegal, it would lose even more.
Early AM raid, cuffs, leg restraints, frog-marching to an awaiting paddy wagon, holding cell until trial. That is what is needed for this uncivil insurrectionist degenerate.
They need approval from the people who allow them to stay them in office - which is not any electorate the public is aware of.
.
She must really need the illegal votes and Medicaid money that she and the Dems are probably skimming from.
EXACTLY RIGHT, LET THAT SINK IN
State officials cannot be drafted (commandeered) by the federal government to enforce federal law, according to the USSC. States, counties and Indian reservations are sovereigns.
