We’ll know more on Monday - they count Friday ticket sales in “opening weekend” - but I cannot remember a movie anytime, anywhere, that has deliberately lit off this bonfire of hostility among its potential audience and then merrily kept fanning the flames. “Go to this movie or you’re a bigot” hasn’t worked any better than “Drink this beer or you’re a bigot” did for Bud Light.
In a sane world, this would result in the entire C-level of a company being asked to resign by the board, and everyone else involved in the movie summarily fired.
But this isn’t a sane world. This is Clown World. So I fully expect the train derailment to continue unabated.

It doesn’t help that Rachel Zegler, in addition to being an empty suit PC fool, is just not physically attractive enough to play Snow White. She’s supposed to be a timeless beauty.

The stars of old were so much smarter. They knew not to open their yaps and become reviled and hated by their big fan bases. They knew not to bad mouth their studios or studio execs. They knew they should not complain about America and its values. The studios knew how to make them stars and put them on pedestals so everybody wanted to be like them.
Everything has changed for the worst. Maybe one of these days karma will strike Disney to file for Chapter 7, “liquidation bankruptcy.”
Didn’t they just remake a live action Snow White a year ago and got panned for not using real little people for the dwarves?
I ADORE Musicals, and the ‘West Side Story’ re-make by Steven Spielberg is visually stunning, keeps to the original Broadway script, has an amazing ensemble of really fine dancers/singers/actors as well as Rita Moreno!
And, it stars Rachel Zegler as Maria. That girl can SING and she can act! The camera LOVES her!
