Music is of course is very subjective and some songs are not for everyone. C’est la Vie.
I tried as much as possible to post a clip of the person, who either first performed the song, or made the first early popular version. I may have missed in some cases.
The list is by no means complete, instead reflects my personal experiences with these songs, some going back to childhood. Freeper’s being very knowledgeable in many areas will likely have songs in mind that I missed. I encourage you to post them, if you do.

L'amour est bleu, either Vicky Leandros singing or Paul Mariat and orchestra performing, the latter was #1 in '68 I think. FYI Leandros was Greek, but best known for this French song.
