Gavin Newsom to Victims of California Fires: ‘You Can’t Rebuild the Same, Have to Rebuild With Climate Reality in Mind’ (VIDEO)

Gavin Newsom just appeared on CNN and explained that people ‘can’t rebuild the same.’ Newsom suggests that there is a new reality due to the ‘science’ and climate change, and that all of that has to be taken into account as people rebuild.

In other words, Adam Carolla was right. Newsom and other authorities in California may be handing out building permits, but it’s pretty clear that there will still be red tape and new rules for rebuilding.

California is dead. As long as the young Marxists are in charge it will end up like Communist Russia in 1991. The land is beginning to vomit out its peoples.

Well you figured out code to make resistant and less flammable. Now how about fire and hurricane proof.

If the buildings are sufficiently resistant, they become proof. There is the science, but in both cases focusing on the roofs solves most of the problems, and masonry walls are less likely to be a problem in either case.

"I sense a disturbance in the force. Californians
are gonna collectively snap soon."

It's going to take getting rid of the governor and most
importantly all of the lunatics, Democrat and Republican
in the state legislature. And cleaning out the county,
city and other local governments of the lunatic liberals.
Not to mention heads of state and local agencies, colleges
public schools etc. All have been corrupted.
I don't see the necessary changes happening anytime soon.

Just one connection between USAID and an arsonist and Greasy Head is done.

If it exists may it be found!

You can’t vote for him the same. You have to do a recall and this time make it stick with reality in mind.

Just as Florida created a building code to resist hurricane damage, CA needs to have a building code to make homes more fire resistant.

Gad, another genius with all the answers and no accountabiity.

Dear Dr. Franklin, one of the reasons these houses burned each other is that they were bult to code, which required "Class A" roofing materials, the most common of which is the fiberglass reinforced asphalt shingle with an aggregate surface. And how did these geniuses at the NFPA qualify that material? Well, they dumped pine needles on them and lit them on fire. If the fire didn't burn through, they got the rating! Those shingles became the material of choice with code enforcers just like you.

One problem, in high winds those shingles lift and the fire gets underneath the gravel surface and turns that shingle into a flying blob of burning tar that sticks to the side on the next house, drooling fire down the wood siding. In the Santa Rosa Tubbs Fire of 2017, whole blocks of housing were consumed with a wide street on one side and a fairway on the other. It wasn't the forest or brush that caused the disaster, it was politicians directing code enforcers to specify skimpy setbacks and insurance companies failing to do their homework testing those shingles stringently.

Rather than allow people to try different means to secure their tax-shelters, now everybody like you thinks that cement board siding and shingles will work, never having engineered those structures for the extra weight in an earthquake. You should see how fast these specifications change too. Manufacturers are coming up with "improvements" rapidly, and the rules change equally rapidly. And don't tell me there aren't deals involved re the regulators.

That's how we really got into this mess.

Fire conditions vary a lot from place to place. That's why codes can easily be inept. Given that our house isn't anywhere near another structure, my plan has been vegetation management for over 300' from the house. This week, I've been out in the rain planting Carex barbarae, a sedge that makes an outstanding form of both fire protection and erosion control in a wildland setting. Stays green all summer without irrigation too. It makes the perfect backfire material leaving zero fuel around the structure, and it greens up again in only a couple of months. I promise you: it's not mentioned in any building codes, which don't allow for any actual innovation.

The climate fluctuates naturally over long cycles. Nothing we are doing is changing the climate, and nothing we can do can prevent it from changing.

There’s your climate reality.

I think Newsom should be declared a fire hazard. What is the flashpoint of hair gel anyway?

“Am I nuts to think that Newsom will use this “rebuild” for the Olympics as a way to catapult himself into the Presidency in 2028?”

There may be a fight over trans athletes. Trump threw down the gauntlet. Newsom will be on the crazy side.

Climate Change is a fraud invented by Al Gore and the DNC to steal money and dictate America.

All the more reason the fires 🔥 were deliberately set.

No need to reach for conspiracy theories. Wildfires are common in SoCal. Much like earthquakes and mudslides.

That was the communist’s plan all along...
The fires, however they started, were planed and executed perfectly...
Now they have the catastrophe that offers them the road to more gains and control of the peasants of CA...

Metal roofing tiles (light weight) and fiber cement (James Hardie) siding are good fire proof materials. Also, include a swimming pool with a gas engine powered water pump hooked up to sprinklers around the exterior of the house.

And so the regulatory red tape starts once again, that will delay any rebuilding of home destroyed in the fires.

20% is proposed to be set aside for low income housing by the democrats. That is apts and 4 home townhomes where your house once stood.
The democrats want to change what can be built and your house won’t qualify.
