Fox News obtained exclusive information regarding the crew members aboard the Army helicopter at the time of the accident. The instructor pilot commanding the Black Hawk boasted 1,000 flying hours.
Meanwhile, his co-pilot was a woman with 500 flying hours, considered to be a standard level of experience in aviation circles.
The revelation that the co-pilot was a woman has reignited ongoing debates about gender roles within military operations.

In cases which degrade the Progressive narrative, we never get all the facts. We are left with speculations in a fog of disinformation.
I would expect the qualification of the co-pilot is an irrelevant distraction. The pilot-in-charge is who matters.
And we just don't know enough yet. Was it an avoidable accident, a suicidal pilot, or "Sudden Jihadi Syndrome".
So far, I am betting on "avoidable accident" as the highest probability. Let's get some more background on the pilot before changing the bets.
She brought that plane back. I’d have her as a wing...woman.
;-)
The “I” in DEI stands for Incompetence.
Sounds like she was the instructor...could be she was a blabber mouth and a distraction....”Oh wow...there’s the Capitol...
Do you want to be called a lunatic? Yes? No?
If not then loose the claim that the helo climbed in altitude several hundred feet, prior to impact.
Show me the evidence.
I watched the video several times and it’s the same flight profile every single time. FLAT. FLAT. FLAT.
Helo doesn’t deviate from it’s course/altitude, and the DRJ doesn’t deviate from it’s course/altitude.
In fact, to the CRJ aircrew’s credit, they make a fine banked turn and maintain altitude, which is indicative of their skill and professionalism.
(As usual, some of you are intent on finding a woman or non-white person to blame.)
And what’s wrong with that?
I think it was more a “proficiency” flight...but something very bizarre happened....so lots of theories...
You’re certainly allowed to have your preferences ... (or, at least, you should be) ... but I stand by my assessment of the pilots I have worked with.
“Shocking, innit? Everybody knows wimmins can’t fly”.
Or drive. :-)
RE: “What’s wrong with that?”
Because it makes no sense. Too many people here have kneejerk reactions to everything, make assumptions, and jump to conclusions.
I don’t care about the pilots in the helicopter.
I want to know the skinny on the ATC.
Lots of chest puffing on an aviation thread.
Sarcasm on my part. As I read this thread, I see a lot of < expletive deleted > seriously suggesting that since a woman was on board the helo, she necessarily caused the collision. In case you’re wondering, SkyDancer (to whom I directed that sarcastic comment) is a commercial pilot and an XX-type person.
I want to know what the recommended staffing level is for ATC at Reagan, and what was the actual staffing level.
There’s the Capitol.
WRONG!
Come on tonto, yeah I went there...
Pilot Instructor (man) with 1,000 hours flight time, conducts training mission with junior officer pilot (woman) with 500 hours flight time, refreshing pilot skills in annual training mission using NVGs. Maintaining currency in specialized skill (use of NVGs) being the primary goal.
Both pilots are in select rotary wing aviation unit (Davison Army Airfield, Ft. Belvoir, Bravo Company, 12th Battalion) tasked with flying US military VIPs during 9-11 type event, to maintain Continuity of Government.
Didn’t this rag state that there were 4 survivors? Seems like they are going DEI CYA/reputation despite the fact that the buck stops with the pilot who is the main person in command.
“Too many people here have kneejerk reactions to everything, make assumptions, and jump to conclusions.”
It’s based on what Trump has said, and he’s been briefed with more details than anybody.
(I want to know the skinny on the ATC.)
I do too, most importantly the racial percentage of it, and the race of the controller directly in contact with the crew.
Too many people here have kneejerk reactions to everything, make assumptions, and jump to conclusions.
