I disagree with this policy.

But I don’t live in California.

And I respect the right of California voters to adopt policies that I disagree with.

I would be curious to hear a more detailed explanation from California environmentalists, voters, elected officials, policy makers, and other people about why they chose to adopt this policy.

The excuse is to create compost for the newer living plants.

Another is “nesting” cover for species.

Now there aren’t any newer living plants.

Morons.

Any modern day prophet who would have given warning, citing facts and probabilities, would suffer deaf ears and ridicule. Not even if his words were heard and believed would there have been a response sufficient to mitigate great loss.

This is a convergence of natural and man-made consequence that might have been reduced, but could not have been avoided entirely.

It’s time to make lemonade. America can make California great again.

Sure. Me too. Just don't ask for the rest of the country to bail you out due to your asinine policies.

You would get absolute BS from them.
Federal EPA did some good things, but the organization is no longer needed, it is just a hammer looking for a “proud” nail to hit.
States have it covered pretty good now.

I can help with that. Those folks will tell you that the fires are due to both Climate Change and evil utility companies.

It’s mostly Climate Change. But you’ve got to add the utility companies because they can be sued for lots of money.

Yep, and the species that were nesting in it. In mass... Good thing they were not endangered species right? Oh wait.. EVERYTHING is endangered in Ca.

This is always the end product of every environmental effort they impose. It always back fires and does more damage than good. It proves their efforts are NOT actually about protecting the environment.

The problem is radical extremism. It is always all or nothing. Common sense compromises that would benefit both species and man both are NEVER considered and absolutely taboo.

The laws of nature dictate that if man doesn’t clean up the forest, nature will.

The excuse is to create compost for the newer living plants.

At the most basic level, it is a rejection by the Left of authority given to humans to "dress and keep".

Some enterprising lawyer should find a way to sue the environmental groups who pushed the extremist policies that led to the devastation. These groups have very deep pockets.

This is how gov’t “manages” our public lands. They want to ‘leave it to nature’ & not interfere with it. The result is bug-infested dying trees in our forests & underbrush ready to turn into a conflagration if there’s a lightning strike...or an arsonist running around.

There are hosts of insects, mice, and other small critters that live in such dry brush. They need homes too!

Heavy rains triggering mudslides, followed by a 7.4 earthquake should do the trick.

To paraphrase General "Buck" Turgidson from "Dr. Strangelove"!:

"Well, Mister, I would... I would say that the wildfires has already invalidated that policy"
