The Los Angeles Times recently reported:
State to probe why Pacific Palisades reservoir was offline, empty when firestorm exploded
January 10, 2025
The Santa Ynez complex, at 117 million gallons, is among several sources of water in the area…
“It’s completely unacceptable that this reservoir was empty for almost a year for minor repairs,” Gus Corona, business manager of IBEW Local 18, said in an interview with The Times.
I’d be curious to know why it takes “almost a year” to carry out “minor repairs.”
“Never let a crisis go to waste”?
1. To save the smelt which may have been killed off by diverting water.
2. Can’t build 15 minute cites until the cities in the way are destroyed.
Because three lesbians were busy with a cumcuber.
Drugs.
More drugs.
Pets.
DEI sessions.
Cultural stuff.
Sports.
Bureaucrats.
Offendees.
And nobody has to do anything other than meeting the bureaucracy’s Rules of Engagement: DEI
This is easily explained:
Money had to be sent to Ukraine to fight the DimWIT’s war against Putin
Fire Equipment had to be sent to Ukraine to help the victims of Russian aggression.
Fire fighters and maintenance people had to be fired because these people thought they didn’t have to be vaxxxxxxxxxinated against the DimWIT’s Fauci virus.
Not replacing people fired means little things like repairs to a reservoir and refilling do NOT get completed.
Please vote for Gavin for POTUS. He wants to bring his management nationwide!
Who decided to drain the reservoir?
What happened to the water?
Why is it still empty?
The lady in charge of water for the government was handpicked because she was a lesbian.
She only gets paid $750,000 a year, maybe if they paid her decently there wouldn’t have been this kind of problem.
You forgot the most obvious answer of all from the highly overpaid, underworld, and incompetent bureaucracy that so often wins them praise and gives them what they want:
They didn’t have enough money.
The federal, state, and local governments have only been given tens of trillions of USD in the 21st century. So, what do they think. They want more, much much more. There never is enough to satisfy the swamp.
I was focusing on, listing the chores of worker bees.
My guess is, that some would like to get the job done - and well - but their management are worth-less-but (as you say) overpaid.
Cali wasn’t like this in the 90s and it’s so sad to see it.
California doesn’t deserve Californians
Maybe there was a hole in the dike?
Because Democrat managerial competence is damn near nil.
Democrat black woman lesbian managerial competence *is* nil, or negative.
Convince me otherwise.
Sounds like a plan!
I did a little bit of reading on this. The LA Times has some info.
The reservoir is (sometimes) used for drinking water. That’s why, under EPA regs it has to have a cover on it, to keep debris and organic material out of it. They also Chlorinate it. The cover suffered a large rip in it, so they drained it, and sent it out for repair. The Union folks wanted to do the work in-house, understandably, but the repair was let out for bids. LA Times said the whereabouts of the cover since then is unclear.
Like most stories a little bit of reverse engineering is sometimes necessary to deduce what may have happened. Various agencies are now claiming they weren’t informed. Hope this helps.
waiting on the perfect conditions for “The Big One!” they got it.
I knew SOMETHING smelt. now i know.
I was gonna make a lame joke but there is too much good info here.
