Established in 2001, after the 9/11 attack on America and now in its 24th year, this thread is designed to identify threats to America, both internal and external, and evaluate the probability of those threats occurring and the extent of potential damage. Discussions may stray into ‘tinfoil’ territory, but the goal is to peel back and confirm information so we can make informed decisions and actions. Incredible as it seems, “tinfoil” conspiracy theories have fast become realities so they can no longer be ignored outright, but must be evaluated and compared to current events.

2024 has been “historic”: - The landslide election of Trump back into the Whitehouse, and the collapse of the massive lawfare effort against him. - Assassination attempts on Trump - Stunning defeat of Hamas and Hezbollah by Israel - Israel directly hits Iran after Iranian missile strikes, eliminating Iranian missile production capabilities for several years as well as destroying most of its air defense assets. - The almost overnight overthrow of Syria’s Assad and the associated serious losses to Russia and Iran/Hezbollah

I expect 2025 to be even worse as we are facing: - Massive political infighting as the Swamp tries to thwart the Trump agenda - Potential for civil unrest and violence driven by the communist left and Antifa affiliated elements. - Potential violence as Trump implements is deportation plan for millions of illegals. - The potential for a serious and deep recession - Further movement towards implementing the goals of the WEF via its “global reset” - Combat in Ukraine that could spill out into other parts of Europe - Russian nuclear threats - China making a move on Taiwan - Israel and Iran finally directly going at it. - Other political turmoil growing globally over a wide range of issues. - Potential for a wide variety of Black Swan events to create even greater problems.

It has been my pleasure to continue this thread over the past few years. This thread hopefully is continuing the goals of when it started.

For those who care, my posts reflect my scanning of the interwebs to provide me with early warning concerning factors that can endanger my life and family. Yes, I’m what many would call a “prepper”, and proudly accept that characterization.

How can something happening half way around the world affect me personally? Wuhan virus, my friend is but one recent example. I noted it in TM Dec 2019 and was prepared when chaos hit in 2020.

Other events have secondary and tertiary affects that reach us via shortages and inflation – fossil fuel prices are the most common, as well as economic impacts. I simply share news items and often my opinions that shape my actions and preparations.

My posts are broken down into specific topics and regions. I highlight and evaluative opensource reports in those areas in regard to how it will affect the US. Sometimes it feels like trying to drink from a fire hose – even more so following 2022.

So buckle up for the ride. This is an open thread that I want to continue as a clearing house of tidbits of intelligence contributed by the FR community so that we are all aware of what’s happening and what the impacts of those events will be. Knowledge is power

A website called “Dogequest” has reportedly published the names, addresses, and phone numbers of Tesla owners across the U.S., complete with an interactive map and a Molotov cocktail cursor.The site claims it will only remove personal data if owners prove they’ve sold their Teslas, in an apparent backlash to Elon’s ties with the Trump administration.This comes as Tesla dealerships face gunfire, arson attempts, and Cybertruck owners report harassment, while anti-Tesla protests ramp up nationwide.

Multiple vehicles were destroyed in an arson attack at a Tesla service center in Las Vegas on the morning of March 18.

FBI and ATF have now begun investigating the firebombing at a Tesla showroom in Kansas City, MO last night.

A trans leftist in Buffalo Grove, Ill. was arrested on March 14 for allegedly attacking a newly constructed Tesla service center near Chicago.

Erin L. White, 27, has been charged with felony criminal damage to property and criminal trespass.

White is at least the third known arrested trans person who has allegedly attacked Tesla property recently following calls from leftists for domestic terror attacks as revenge against elon musk and Trump.

“Command Eleven, an apparently Pakistan-based private intelligence firm, is warning of an imminent terror attack against U.S.-based hospitals.”

“A complex attack involving a vehicle-borne IED will target “a hospital in a mid-tier [U.S.] city” followed by a swarm of armed attackers immediately taking hostages. (Analyst Comment: Hostage scenarios historically involve demands for the release of imprisoned members of terrorist groups. It’s at least possible that attackers do not expect a swap, and instead want a protracted media event for psychological effect.)”

“Command Eleven reports this event will happen within the next three weeks. The Islamic State will reportedly take credit. (AC: Three weeks from the date of information is Monday, 07 April. Islamic holiday Eid al-Fitr runs from Saturday, 29 March to Sunday, 30 March.)”

FO analysis of the information - “We’re unable to confirm or deny the claims of Command Eleven and Sara Adams, however, my approach to these claims considers feasibility, appropriateness, consistency, and timing (FACT). Is it feasible that Islamic terror groups will target a hospital in the next three weeks? Yes. Is it reasonably appropriate for terrorists to attack a civilian target such as a hospital in the next three weeks? Yes. Is it consistent with what we know about the tactics and desired objectives of Islamic terror groups? Yes. And finally, the timing of this warning does coincide with Eid al-Fitr, an Islamic holy day where suicide bombings have historically occurred abroad.”

MY OBSERVATION - As I’ve noted yesterday, the scenario is VERY plausible and similar to other terror attacks in other countries over the years. Validity of the threat depends on the reliability of the sources - cannot judge at this time.

Economy- HIGH Threat - as of Jan 1, 2025

Fed officials at this week’s meeting are expected to hold interest rates steady but adjust their views on the economy and possibly the future path of interest rates.

The committee could maintain its outlook for two cuts, remove one or both, or, improbably, add another as a statement of concern over a potential slowdown. Everything seems to be on the table.

Chair Jerome Powell and his colleagues in recent weeks have advocated a patient approach in which they don’t need to be in a hurry to do anything.

OBSERVATION - The results of any tariffs are yet to be seen in either the short or long term. Same to for economic measures to stimulate the private sector and cut to the fed govt spending.

POLITICAL FRONT –

Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts said impeachment of federal judges is not an appropriate response to their rulings against the Trump administration

OBSERVATION - Roberts has thrown gasoline on the fire of rogue justices perverting law and constitution to attack Trumps efforts. This could lead to a major constitutional crisis as it would encourage further rogue justices to rule unconstitutionally against Trump.

INTERNATIONAL GENERAL –

White House: President Trump and Putin agree on steps toward a Ukraine ceasefire, starting with energy and maritime negotiations. Talks will begin immediately in the Middle East. Both stressed improving U.S.-Russia relations and preventing Iran from threatening Israel

OBSERVATION - IMHO the talks were a big nothing burger.

Russia -

Putin effectively rejected the proposal for a complete ceasefire.

In the run up to today’s (yesterday’s) call, Donald Trump made a big deal of his conversation with Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

But the results look like there’s little to shout about.
The Russian president has given the US leader just enough to claim that he made progress towards peace in Ukraine, without making it look like he was played by the Kremlin.

Trump can point to Putin’s pledge to halt attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure for 30 days. If that actually happens, it will bring some relief to civilians.

Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin agreed to an immediate ceasefire on energy and critical infrastructure in Ukraine on their call yesterday. Negotiations on a maritime ceasefire, full ceasefire, and peace will begin immediately in the Middle East.

After a series of Russian strikes targeting Ukrainian infrastructure, Russian channels report that Ukrainian attack drones successfully hit a Russian Rosneft fuel depot in Krasnodar.
The Russian fuel depot is burning.

A Ukrainian attack on the Unecha oil pumping station resulted in the complete destruction of the 110 kV “Vysokoe” substation, cutting off its power supply. LPS “Unecha” is a key hub for oil transit via the Druzhba pipeline to Ust-Luga, a major export route for Russian oil.

Summary —

Effective results from the Trump/putin talks yesterday won’t be seen for days, and depend on putin’s sincerity - which I strongly doubt. Putin thinks he has trump on a string - and so far trump seems to be willing to let that view stand.

Rumors of Russian offensives in other sectors is feasible if Ukraine doesn’t have the weapons and ammo. But Russia has contributed substantial resources in Kursk and Pokrovsk and I really don’t see them having the force reserves to launch these multiple attacks in any large scale. More likely attempts to increase the tempo of attacks in these sectors.

Europe / NATO General –

(FO) French President Macron told the Luxeuil-Saint-Sauveur Air Base that they will receive a 1.5 billion Euro upgrade to host the Rafale F5s which enter service in 2030.
The Rafale F5s will be upgraded with the ASN4G nuclear missile in 2035 which will have at least a 1000km range. The current Rafale fighters and their ASMPA-R nuclear missiles can just reach Moscow from Luxeuil-Saint-Sauveur.

ISRAEL –

Israel’s Foreign Ministry on Tuesday night blasted UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres over his latest criticism of Israel’s strikes in the Gaza Strip.

In response, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oren Marmorstein wrote, “We are outraged that you, Antonio Guterres, are the Secretary-General of the UN.”

“Not a word about the fact that Hamas rejected two American proposals to extend the ceasefire and release more hostages—two proposals that Israel accepted,” added Marmorstein.

“Not a word about the fact that Hamas exploits the transfer of goods to Gaza to rebuild its war machine in order to further attack Israel.”

“Not a word about UNRWA, which, under your leadership, employs Hamas terrorists, and whose facilities were used by Hamas to hold hostages. Indeed, we are outraged by your moral bankruptcy,” the Foreign Ministry spokesperson concluded.

The Israeli army dropped leaflets over the eastern outskirts of Khan Younis in southern Gaza urging residents to evacuate immediately. Additionally, the Israeli army reiterated its warning to residents of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza to leave as their areas are about to become active combat zones

Gaza reports: Yasser Harb, a member of Hams’ political bureau, was killed tonight, joining his five sons, Nuhba terrorists in Hams’ military wing, who were killed during the fighting in Jabaliya. Naji Abu Seif, better known by his kunya, Abu Hamza, the spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s military wing, was eliminated in Gaza.

Asharq Al-Awsat reports that senior Hamas commander Jamil al-Wadiyya, commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades’ Shuja’iyya Battalion, was eliminated in an IAF airstrike.
According to the report, he was responsible for the handover of three female IDF soldiers during the recent wave of hostage releases.

Asharq Al-Awsat also reports the death of Mohammed Abu Ajwa, a Qassam Brigades field commander in the Tel al-Hawa neighborhood.

Hassan al-Naim “Abu Ali”, head of Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s rocket unit, was eliminated in an IAF strike in Khan Yunis this morning.

The IDF announced that it launched a large-scale offensive in the Gaza Strip, especially in the neighbourhoods of Beit Hanoun, Hirbet Huza’a, Abasan al-Kabira and al-Jadidah, and that these areas must be evacuated.

Israel intercepted a ballistic missile fired by Iran-backed Houthis from Yemen, the IDF says. The missile was downed before crossing into Israel, with no reported injuries or damage. Sirens blared in Beersheba, Dimona, and other southern towns. This marks the first Houthi attack since January 18, just before the Gaza ceasefire.

Qatar strongly condemns the Israeli raids on Daraa, considering them a blatant attack on Syria’s sovereignty and unity and a flagrant violation of international law. Back to complaints of Israeli operations by the standard group of Europeans / arabs. Tempo of airstrikes appear to be declining slightly, but still hitting Hamas elements hard. Ground ops are impending, probably within a few days.

US continues continuous air and cruise missile strikes against the Houthis. The Houthis for their part still claim to have sunk the US fleet - for the fourth time. They also attempted a ballistic missile strike on Israel - failed. Such action only guaranteed more extended air strikes on Houthi facilities - both military and political.

Iran –

The Iranian rial is crashing and has reached one million rials to the dollar.

OBSERVATION - This is disastrous for Iran’s economy, as goods imported are priced in dollars.

Lebanon -

Renewed clashes on the Hawsh al-Sayyid Ali axis between the Syrian army and the Hezbollah militia. Securing the other side of the border in the village of Hawsh Bint Ismail is the mission of the Lebanese army, as Hezbollah militants launch from that area to launch night raids on the Syrian army

Turkey –

Report in Turkey: Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, Erdogan’s biggest political opponent, was arrested this morning as part of an investigation into his case.
Social media is now restricted.
Public demonstrations were prohibited.
The stock market is falling.

OBSERVATION - Erodogan doesn’t have full, popular support of Turks. This action has the potential for growing civil unrest.

Left-wing activist group Seattle Indivisible is promoting an anti-Elon Musk and Tesla Takedown protest this weekend.

Another left-wing nonprofit organization The Development Coordinator at the Warehouse Worker Resource Center is organizing Tesla Take Down in Manhattan this weekend.

NOTE - The violence directed toward Musk and Tesla cross over with Terrorism as well.

OBSERVATION - I expect that more of these protests will be announced as the weekend approaches.

Democrat Congresswoman @JasmineForUS Jasmine Crockett spoke on a CALL TO ACTION call organized by the @Tesla Takedown organizers who have been vandalizing and attacking @elonmusk’s Tesla Showrooms and charging stations across the country and all over the world.

Crockett said her birthday is on March 29th, and “all I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down.”

OBSERVATION - Crockett has been very vocal in calling for violence against Tesla owners and dealership. Also terroristic in nature.

Rick Wilson is.. the Lincoln Project founder was caught sending sexually explicit messages to 14 year old boys.

Wilson is explicitly calling on Americans to “Kill Tesla, Save The Country,” urging direct attacks against the company explaining Tesla is Elon’s weak spot. He portrays Tesla as a “bank for fascists” and a “goose-stepping hedge fund” financing Musk’s ambition to seize control of the US government, amass a trillion-dollar fortune, and crown himself Emperor of Mars. This isn’t political hyperbole—it’s a full-throated call to cripple a private enterprise under the guise of combating authoritarianism. The irony, of course, is lost on Wilson.

Before targeting Tesla, Rick Wilson said that someone needed to “put a bullet in Donald Trump” to stop him. Now calling Trump and Elon Musk authoritarian dictators, his extreme rhetoric and call for an attack on Tesla are unhinged and dangerous.

Antifa and far-left violent extremists are sharing a guide on how to use modified incendiary devices to burn down Tesla vehicles and other cars in targeted domestic terrorist attacks meant to intimidate elon musk and President Trump.

The Justice Dept says it is treating the string of violent attacks on Tesla property, including shootings and firebombings, as domestic terrorism. The suspects apprehended so far have not been charged with terror-related offenses.

Economy- HIGH Threat - as of Jan 1, 2025

(Reuters). Fed leaves policy rate outlook unchanged amid projected growth slowdown, temporary inflation jump

they still anticipate reducing borrowing costs by half a percentage point by the end of this year in the context of slowing economic growth and, eventually, a downturn in inflation.

Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell has attributed inflation to tariffs, even though significant tariffs are not scheduled to take effect until April 2nd.

Taking stock of the Trump administration’s rollout of tariffs, Fed officials actually marked up their outlook for inflation this year, with their preferred measure of price increases expected to end the year at 2.7% versus the 2.5% pace anticipated in December. The Fed targets inflation at 2%.
But they also marked down the outlook for economic growth for this year from 2.1% to 1.7%, with slightly higher unemployment by the end of this year.

OBSERVATION - Fed action is not unexpected and on the cautious side. Delays are not denials, but will continue to stress the economy with high interest rates.

POLITICAL FRONT –

Are Schumer’s days in leadership numbered? Schumer went on The View, apparently in search of supporters. Meanwhile, pelosi took a second knife and slammed it into his back. Progressive/marxist democrats are livid that Schumer reversed on the CR, with many calling for his resignation and replacement as minority leader. This is just one component of a much wider festering civil war among the democrats in congress.

James Carville predicted Tuesday there could be an “uprising within the Democratic Party” in the coming months if top lawmakers’ “plan” does not yield results.

OBSERVATION - Evidence of judicial activism continues to grow with rulings like this. IIRC Reyes was a ‘celebrated’ LGBT activist before being put on the cours.

Illegal Immigration –

Reports that Border Patrol holding facilities are near capacity.

Russia -

Analysts pointing out that putin and his mouthpieces are deliberately obfuscating details and particularly dates of the proposed cease fire in order to try to pin Ukraine on violating those ‘points’ and permit it to continue the attacks.

Russian Personnel Issues –-

UK’s Defence Intelligence says Russia’s armed forces have likely suffered around 900,000 casualties - including up to a quarter of a million killed - since launching their full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This represents Russia’s “largest losses since WW2”

Ukraine –

Russia launched 171 drones of which 75 were shot down. Another 63 were lost in location, presumably drone-simulators or supressed by electronic warfare.

Russia’s Engels Airbase, home to a significant portion of the Russian Air Force bomber fleet, suffered a massive explosion after a Ukrainian drone attack this morning. Evacuations are underway in nearby areas. The Russian base reportedly housed three Tu-95MS and two Tu-160 bombers. Debris from the blast scattered up to 5 km, possibly damaging the planes. Locals report secondary detonations.

Russians have unleashed hell in Kropyvnytskyi. Over 30 explosions in just a few hours. Waves of airstrikes were repelled, but danger persists as more missiles head towards the city. Fires continue, and the damage to civilian infrastructure is severe.

Despite Russian claims of control, Russian channels now report that Ukrainian forces have pushed past defensive lines near Demidovka, Belgorod border region. According to Russians, Ukrainian forces are using fiber optic drones en masse.
NOTE - Photos on social media show so much fiber optic cables in the trees that it looks like a giant spider web.

“The enemy is expanding its control zones. IMR (engineering vehicle) is expanding the passage. Our guys are countering, but the situation is complicated.”

Summary —

More moderately heavy fighting on the ground with Ukraine in the process of a significant offensive action in the Belgorod border. At the moment I don’t see this growing to Kursk levels but will successfully tie down Russia forces that potentially may attempt to attack towards Sumy.

Russia approaching the 900k casualty mark. Associated with this has been the massive amount of tanks, APCs and other equipment destroyed. Even if a ceasefire were to be implemented tomorrow, it would take years for Russia to rebuild its army to the point of being able to attack NATO countries, most likely those in the Baltic region.

A high number of drones got past the defenses overnight and did considerable damage.

The Ukraine strike on Engels Airbase looks substantial. Videos posted to social media show massive explosions / secondaries from an ammo dump located on the northern end of the airfield. Questions arising concerning if the debris thrown up to 5 km damaged any of the strategic bombers at the base.

Political maneuvering over the ceasefire continues, with putin appearing to have the upper hand and trump operating from a position of weakness. Not good for hopes of an end to the conflict.

ISRAEL –

Key overnight developments -

The sudden readiness expressed by Hamas to accept ‘any proposal’ in exchange for ceasefire resumption strongly indicates the sudden resumption of attacks caught them unprepared and have hurt them hard. They could be realizing that their worst nightmare is upon them.

Israel is quickly reclaiming territory it controlled before the ceasefire Phase 1 began with little to no Hamas resistance. It is also pressing towards areas the biden forced Israel to avoid in central and southern Gaza. Netanyahu has stated that the attacks will continue to ramp up until hostages are released and Hamas has been eliminated.

Houthis bought themselves some more US airstrikes with their attacks on Israel and the fleet. Attacks by US assets continue on a daily basis, chewing up Houthi military assets and destroying governing infrastructure.

The big item to note is the renewed warning to Iran not to supply the Houthis with further military arms and munitions. Current US actions have significantly cut these resources off via destruction of port facilities and airfields. Iran faces having to smuggle war materials across the anti-Houthi eastern areas of Yemen.

OVERALL OBSERVATIONS -
The countdown clock to a military solution to Iran’s nuclear program has been started. Analysis strongly suggests that should a strike occur, it will be joint with Israel - resulting in a very massive attack on not only Iran’s nuclear program, but many other parts of its military-industrial complex.

Key issue to watch for is clear deployment of military assets to the region, including air craft carriers.

Iran is trying to put up a brave face to the warning, but it has few options.

1 Maintain its present course and refuse conditions set forth by Trump.
2 Try to launch another preemptive missile attack
3 Conduct some other act such as trying to close off the Straits of Hormuz.

A lot of this depends on the Iranian perception of whether or not Trump will follow through with his threat. The no-nonsense response to the houthis attacking shipping the Red Sea region should serve as a wake-up call if they have any doubt.

Options 2 and 3 could involve attacks on US forces stationed in the region. While they could hit before the US has built up forces in the region, potentially causing hundreds of US casualties, the US has strategic capabilities to strike back hard and with Israeli support. For example, you could see just about every available US strategic bomber enroute to Iran within hours.

One last thing — the US military option could engage much sooner as well. The element of surprise my friend.

In Gaza, Israel continues to pound Hamas et al. Israel is now set on annexing captured portions of Gaza as punishment for delays in freeing the hostages. The Trump administration continues to express complete support for the Israeli operation.

Israel continues to do the job the Lebanese army if failing to do - demilitarize Hezbollah.

The effectiveness of the ongoing US airstrikes on the Houthis is reflected in part by the failures of their attacks on Israel and the Truman task force in the Red Sea. Houthis have a lot of stuff hidden away, but those locations are more and more being identified and destroyed. For example, the ballistic missiles used against Israel are essentially modified Russian SCUD type devices, vehicle mounted. Hard to locate before they fire. The fact that they’ve only launched single missile strikes suggest that even these systems are under extreme pressure. But these islamic forces have learned one lesson very well - disperse, hide and bury critical weapon systems as it would take a substantial air operation to take them all out. Which is why Saudi Arabia failed in their war with the Houthi and so far the US is winning.

US has also targeted Houthi govt installations / buildings to denigrate the terrorist govt infrastructure. This operation continues to be a sustained effort, especially since Houthis keep attacking Israel and the Truman CSG.

Misc of Note –

A major part of my personal threat analysis at a national and higher level is to war-game out in my mind how the dominos would fall if event “X” happens and how that will impact myself and family. Example:

US attacks Iran —> Iran blocks Hormuz —> Regional war breaks out —> Iran activates terror cells in the US

In this scenario, the key analysis becomes just how likely will these terror cells strike my corner of the Redoubt? Answer would be very remote. It would quickly turn into Cowboys vs Jihadis. And my state has one of the highest per capital populations of former military in the nation. It wouldn’t end well for them.

Similar evaluation for other scenarios.

However, the most current scenario that has chilled me to the bones is the potential coup by the judiciary agains the President. This fight is developing into a fight for existence and could be even nastier than the beating the left took at the polls last Nov. There is no clear path forward as of yet. Options seem to be -

- Continued malicious compliance as appeals get set up
- Nuclear option to remove judges apart from impeachment/conviction
- Impeachment (do nothing trials)
- Eventual martial law

Even under Trump 45, corruption to these levels was not uncovered as it has now. Just when we though we exposed the evil underbelly of all the NGO and related spending, now we have a direct challenge to the constitution in a more dangerous manner - by those sworn to uphold its principles - but have perverted them instead.

This scenario’s impact on my corner of the world has the potential to be serious. Though massively red, my state has a tenuous calm with the left due to our common culture. The radical left has made inroads and a constitutional crisis could split the peace wide open.

OBSERVATION - Turning the ship around. It will take time but these initial numbers are encouraging.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has ordered the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) and the remaining ships of Carrier Strike Group One (CSG-1), which consists of the Ticonderoga-Class Cruiser, USS Princeton (CG-59) as well as the Arleigh Burke-Class Guided-Missile Destroyers, USS Sterett (DDG-104) and USS William P. Lawrence (DDG-110), to deviate from their ongoing deployment in the Indo-Pacific, and head towards the Middle East.

Secretary Hegseth has also extended the deployment of the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) and her Carrier Strike Group, currently located in the Northern Red Sea.

It will take Vinson two to three weeks to reach CENTCOM (normal speed), meaning the carriers will overlap for a period of time, USNI News understands. The ship movements come as the Trump administration resumed airstrikes on the Houthis last weekend.

The USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78) and Carrier Strike Group Twelve (CSG-12) are expected to finish their Composite Training Unit Exercise, or COMPTUEX, off the coast of Virginia in the next month, for their scheduled deployment this year to U.S. Fifth Fleet. This means that by the time U.S. President Trump’s “two-month” deadline to Iran ends in May, there could be three aircraft carriers in the Middle East.

Eswin Mejia was arrested Thursday in Honduras and put on a plane to the U.S. to face justice for the death of 21-year-old Sarah Root, the State Department said.

Her death resulted in the passing of “Sarah’s Law” requiring police to detain any undocumented immigrant who commits a crime resulting in death or serious injury. Democrats blocked this law until recent with Senate control switching to the Republicans. Was one of the first laws signed by Trump.

More than 530,000 immigrants who entered the United States under the former Biden administration’s humanitarian parole program will have their legal status revoked late next month, according to a notice by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on March 21.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem stated in the notice that the department will end the two-year parole program, known as CHNV program, launched in 2022 by then-President Joe Biden to allow entry of people from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, who had U.S. sponsors.
Noem said that DHS will revoke the parole status of those immigrants on April 24, or within 30 days of the notice’s publication in the Federal Register. The notice is scheduled for formal publication on March 25.

“Parolees without a lawful basis to remain in the United States following this termination of the CHNV parole programs must depart the United States before their parole termination date,” she stated.

Biden launched the CHNV parole program for Venezuelans in October 2022 to reduce illegal border crossings by flying eligible immigrants directly to the United States. It was expanded in January 2023 to include immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, and Nicaragua.

According to the DHS notice, about 532,000 immigrants have been allowed entry into the country under the CHNV parole program since 2022, but it remains unclear how many still hold valid parole status.

Summary —

With no ceasefire in sight, in spite of what Trump has stated, conflict along the front is at a virtual stalemate. Many are assessing that Russia does not have the operational reserves to marshal for any significant offensive, let alone local ones. Rumors continue that Russia is going to try to launch new offensives towards Sumy and Zaporizhzhia. They may try to increase the tempo of attacks in these regions, but any signifiant success is questionable.

The Ukraine strike on Engels-2 should be a wake up call on Russia. Engels is deep within Russia and the success of the strike shows Ukraine’s drone capabilities have improved significantly, both in hitting strength as well as capabilities / range.

Russia still sees slight success in flooding the Ukraine with Shahed drones. Effort seems to be an attempt to wear down ADA capability due to fatigue as well as reducing assets available to counter the strikes.

Germany has seized the tanker Eventin, which was operating for Russia “shadow fleet.”

According to a seizure order from Germany’s main customs office, the tanker, along with the 100,000 tons of crude oil on board, now becomes German property.

In previous posts I’ve warned that a significant indicator of US action against Iran would be the deployment of assets into the region. Included in this was a discussion of three aircraft carrier groups headed to the region. Today, the situation has become much, much clearer with the announcement of the Vincent CSG being diverted CENTCOM, the extension of the Truman’s deployment and the availability of the USS Ford’s CSG to the mix all within Trump’s 2 month deadline for Iranian compliance.

(BTW as noted under Military deployments above, the USS Iwo Jima and the Bush could also be committed as they left port with no announced operations)

Now more F35s are deploying to the region - and likely other fighter/bombers as well.

Nimitz departed Bremerton for its final deployment. Nimitz, which has been working up off the west coast, left Friday on its 22nd.

USNI reports it will take 2-3 weeks for Vinson to reach CENTCOM, which will overlap with Truman’s expected 1-month extension — positioning 2x carrier strike groups in theater. An additional extension of the Truman is not ruled out.

Last August, the U.S. also had 2x aircraft carriers in the Middle East, with Lincoln & Roosevelt overlapping for ~3 weeks.

Ford began COMPTUEX on 14 March and will deploy after completion.

Dual carrier coverage in CENTCOM confirmed. Whether a 3rd arrives depends on: 1) how long Ford takes to complete training, 2) where Nimitz ends up, and 3) length of Truman and Vinson deployment extensions.

OBSERVATION - Under the existing carrier groups out to sea, is wouldn’t be unlikely that FOUR carriers could be in the region. Giving the Nimitz one more battle flag before retirement. Would also serve to replace the Truman’s CSG that is currently being extended on station. The number of options for deployments has now grown to be significant.

FURTHER - Still monitoring deployment of USAF assets to the region as well as potential strategic bomber forward deployments to places like Diego Garcia and other airfields in the region.

POLITICAL FRONT –

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the quiet part out loud this week on PBS, admitting that the Democrats intentionally stacked the courts with 235 progressive judges to stop President Donald Trump. It’s no surprise that since Trump took office this year, he’s been bombarded with an all-out legal assault from the weaponized judicial branch plagued with radical leftists.

“The good news here is, we did put 235 judges—progressive judges, judges not under the control of Trump—last year on the bench, and they are ruling against Trump time after time after time.”
“We hope that the appellate courts, when it gets up there in the Supreme Court, will uphold those rulings. They restored the money to NIH. They required that 8,000 federal employees have to come back.”

March 23, 2025: Russia’s railroads are under tremendous pressure because of the Ukraine War, sanctions and less money for maintaining railroads or anything else. One side effect is China using more reliable Central Asian railroads and sea routes rather than the collapsing Russian rail system. Speeds of Russian rail traffic have fallen to about 36 kilometers an hour compared to 48 for European rail traffic.

Since last year there have been growing fears of a collapse of the Russian rail network. A symptom of this is the five percent decline in cargo carried last year. People in remote areas who depend on rail for supplies are going hungry because rail shipments arrive late or not at all. Another hunger is felt by Chinese firms that no longer have reliable trade routes with Russia are turning to Central Asian railroads and seagoing routes.

Then there are the problems related to sabotage and the Ukraine War. Late last year a Russian freight train derailed in Belgorod province, near the Ukraine border. This sent the locomotive and ten empty railcars off the tracks. It took over a week to remove the locomotive and rolling stock. Then the damaged rails had to be replaced. During that time the rail line was blocked.

Poland –

Poland is preparing to lay up to one million anti-personnel mines along its eastern border as part of its newly announced East Shield defense initiative, according to Paweł Bejda, secretary of state at the Ministry of National Defense.

The decision comes as Poland, alongside Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, withdraws from the Ottawa Convention, which bans the use, production, and transfer of such mines.

“We have no choice. The situation at the border is very serious. Mines will be one of the elements of the East Shield,” Bejda stated in an interview with RMF FM, highlighting Poland’s increasing focus on fortifying its defenses against potential threats from Russia and Belarus.

It appears that Israel’s tactical / strategic plan in Gaza is to progressively increase operation tempo with full readiness to go into the whole territory (with US blessing this time). Each step in the pressure preceded by a call for hostage release and Hamas surrender. Israel is aggressively hitting areas that were off limits by biden’s decree and seemingly without the warnings given in the first phase.

Latest round against Hezbollah found them being hit through out the whole of Lebanon and not just the south. Lebanon still is behind the curve on holding up its end of the ceasefire agreement, so preemptive and retribution Israel attacks will continue.

Barring a significant failure of the Arrow 3 system, Houthi missile attacks have been nothing but good target exercises for Israeli ADA systems. US naval assets (F-18s and cruise missiles) continue to go after Houthi military and civilian infrastructure targets.

Iran is still in Israel’s gunsights, but for the moment they appear to be holding their fire pending the full deployment of US assets to the region and a likely coordinated attack.

Roughly 100 protestors gathered outside of Senator Chuck Schumer’s home on Sunday to voice their opposition to Schumer’s leadership after he voted in favor of a GOP-backed spending bill.

The protestors held up signs outside of Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) home according to the New York Post, with one sign reading “Lost spine, if found please return to Chuck.”

Indivisible Brooklyn, the liberal group that organized the protest, stated that Schumer’s vote to confirm the recent GOP spending bill showcased a “devastating lack of leadership as he capitulated to Trump, Musk and the GOP during negotiations over government funding.”

Homeschool parents would face fines, misdemeanor charges and even jail time if they do not report themselves to local public school officials, under a new proposal from Illinois Democrats.

Parents also would be required to provide public school officials with a “portfolio” of their children’s work at any time, at any interval and frequency, until that portfolio meets the public school’s satisfaction. The bill, dubbed the “Homeschool Act,” requires parents to report themselves in writing to local school officials starting in 2026. Parents who do not will be considered truant. South Korea’s Constitutional Court has overturned the impeachment of Han Duck-soo, reinstating him as acting president.

Hamas claimed to have “responded positively” to a new Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire between Israel and the terror group, according to a report by the Associated Press on Monday.

Israeli sources cited Channel 12 News confirming that Egyptian mediators had presented a new proposal and that Israel recognized “slight positive indications,” but cautioned that large gaps remained.

According to the Associated Press, the new proposal would see Hamas release five living Israeli hostages, including the American-Israeli soldier Edan Alexander.

In return, Israel would be expected to guarantee a seven-week ceasefire, release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, and restore humanitarian aid to Gaza “on a large scale.”

Hamas may be concerned as it sees the IDF advancing in Gaza and appears to so far have very little to confront the advance. The IDF has begun a multi-pronged ground offensive in Gaza since March 19 that has seen forces from several units penetrate into areas of northern Gaza, the Netzarim corridor south of Gaza city and also areas of southern Gaza.

The hints of Hamas concern can be seen in the scramble by Cairo to try to broker some kind of deal; and also reports in Arabic media.

The pro-Hezbollah Lebanese Al-Akhbar, for instance, has written about a new “assassination” policy by Israel. This comes after the high profile strikes on several Hamas political leaders in Gaza. In addition several key Hamas terrorist leaders of units in the area of Shejaiya were killed.

Israeli security source warns of a potential direct clash with Turkey on Syrian soil. Prime Minister Netanyahu will convene the security cabinet on the matter later this evening!

Two nights ago the IAF launched an unusual wave of strikes to disable strategic capabilities at air bases (Palmyra and T4) in central Syria. These are bases that Turkey has its eye on.

According to Walla News, the Syrian regime is in advanced negotiations to transfer control of the Tadmur region to the Turkish military. A defense source warns that direct friction between Israeli and Turkish forces in Syria now appears inevitable.

Hamas suddenly seeing the light and accepting an Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire is right on schedule. The other shoe is about to drop in Gaza and they realize they are about to be squished. The ‘proposal’ has very little in concessions from Hamas. 5 hostages for hundreds of hamas prisoners and 7 weeks ceasefire and tons of free food and supplies. Expressly one is an “American” hostage. Not going to happen, but it makes for PR - PR that is beginning to drag anchor. See further assessment above.

Israel is aggressively targeting remaining senior Hamas leadership, most notably taking out Ibrahim Barhoum in his room in the Nasser Hospital.

Israel has also very aggressively retaken areas in northern and central Gaza they pulled back from under Phase 1. Now with at least two additional IDF divisions staged on the Gaza border they are poised to increase operations.

Houthi keep getting hit by the US and there were no ballistic missile attacks on Israel or reported attacks on the Truman overnight.

Finally, will Israel and Turkey get into a scrum in Syria? Its not a secret Turkey has plans for bases in Syria - in repayment for their support of the ISIS/AQ terrrorisist that overran Assad. Israel may be trying to make potential sites as unusable or damaged as possible to force Turkey to delay or have to invest heavily in repairing these bases. Palmyra and T4 in central Syria are strategically located for Turkey to exert control over the region. Turkey has already threatened to invade Israel over the fight in Gaza, so the situation is primed.

Iran –

Iranian Foreign Minister: We will not negotiate with Washington in light of the unreasonable accusations and demands.

Witkoff: Iran cannot possess a nuclear bomb, and “this cannot and will not happen.”

Turkey –

Hundreds of thousands continue to protest throughout Turkey.

The protesters entered Erdogan’s palace in Istanbul. It’s still not clear if it’s the palace of justice or the presidential palace.

The Turkish government says 1,133 people have been arrested in five days of protests across the country It says people have been “abusing” the right to protest, and warns that “terrorising the streets” will not be tolerated

Images shared on social media show dozens of protesters on the ground, apparently knocked unconscious and stacked over each other after a baton charge from the Turkish riot police in Istanbul

OBSERVATION - I warned yesterday that Turkish authorities will become increasingly violent towards protestors. Dozens were hurt overnight, but numbers continue to swell in protest across the nation. The next level is clear use of lethal weapons as numbers of protestors overwhelm security forces.
