I know folks don't like to view videos to get an explanation for the post, but listening to it will give you far more insight than my simple explanation, but suffice to say Mark Dice is really on spot here. He goes into detail about how he views many so-called conservative voices as actually being closet liberals but not willing to come out as such.
I know not everyone we listen to or read about is going to check all the boxes and that conservative hosts are never going to completely satisfy our desire for a purely Christian conservative viewpoint, but I believe there is merit in what Mark is saying.

There are several ways to simply and quickly determine whether or not they are really Conservative.
1. How well do they know the 10 Bill of Rights? Anyone remember how Musk’s Lottery was for people who confirmed their support in writing for the 1st and 2nd Amendments to the Constitution while registering to vote?
2. What specific changes do they propose for the federal budget/activities to be more compliant with the 9th and 10th Amendments?
3. How well do they know the wordings of the Oath of Office in relation to the Constitution and what specific things do they think that federal/state/local officials should be doing differently to better abide by their oaths?
4. What kind of government does the USA have? If they don’t use the phrase “Constitutional Republic” then it’s a red flag.
5. How big do they think the federal government should be now and in 5 years from now? Specifically, ask them to give their numbers forecasts for federal receipts, federal outlays, total gross wages for all American workers, total national debt, and anything else of importance regarding the fiscal health of the federal government and the USA.
6. On Migrants have they ever been ambiguous in the distinction between Legal and Illegal? Most people tend to be very clear in their understanding between legal (ATM card users & others) and illegal (bank robbers) withdrawal transactions at banks. But they fail to be so clear about migrants.
7. What’s their definition of a woman? How do they feel about having people with male genatilia free to roam the shower rooms of girls?
8. What questions, analysis, and other research have they done regarding the total of votes for Biden in 2020 being about 6 million greater than the total for Harris in 2024 while the news stories on Election Day indicated that turnout was as good or better in 2024 than in 2020 and it seemed like Harris was as good or better candidate than Biden? For example, Jodi Reid on MSNBC called her flawless.
9. What criticisms have they ever made about Steve Bannon and other nonviolent J6 prisoners being locked up, the lack of cross-examinations of J6 committee witnesses in House hearings under Liz Cheney and others in 2021-2022, and other aspects of the J6 investigations and activities? For example, have they ever discussed and wondered why people call it an Insurrection when so many gun owners showed up for the so-called Insurrection without any guns?
10. What criticisms have they ever made about any Judiciary/Executive appointments by Obama or Biden where the Senate confirmed?
I’m sure that there are many more questions that can be asked. But these are a good start IMO in ascertaining whether someone is Conservative or not.
I have no idea what is going on with Mars—but I think are some secrets there...

The problem with Roadrunner’s point is that invariably “conservative” phonies such as the Bushes have turned their guns on old Right, paleocon, and cultural conservatives.
They spend more time attacking the populist Right than they spend fighting liberals and the Left. This goes all the way back to Jack Kemp scowling in disgust at Pat Buchanan’s Culture War speech to the 1992 GOP convention. They don’t attack liberals because on most issues they agree with liberals.
Conservatism, Inc. as some have called it isn’t interested in supporting you. It’s interested getting conservatives to support them.

The real heart of National Review apparently was Buckley’s sister Priscilla. She was the managing editor during its greatest years and NR’s decline coincided with her retirement.

I hear far too much of him. He drives me crazy for several reasons, but a closet liberal he is not.
