Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana clashed with retired Army Maj. Gen. Randy Manner over the general’s criticism of President-elect Donald Trump and his supporters during a Tuesday hearing, with Kennedy asking the former officer if he considered himself “more virtuous” than Trump’s supporters.
Manner appeared on CNN’s “Laura Coates Live” in October, during which he claimed Trump’s supporters were “fascists themselves” while being interviewed. Kennedy brought up Manner’s comments during the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing titled, “How Mass Deportations Will Separate American Families, Harm our Armed Forces, and Devastate Our Economy.”
“On October 14th of this year, you went on CNN. I want to read you what you said, make sure I’m accurate. Here’s what you said: ‘President Trump is not like any sane leader. I’m very proud of General Milley for saying that President Trump is a total fascist,’” Kennedy asked. “To Bob Woodward, ‘If he as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is calling the president a fascist, I’m so proud of him for breaking that barrier. The challenge is because most MAGA Republicans, they don’t understand what fascism is. The reality is that they are, in fact, fascists themselves.’ Did I read that accurately?”
Manner, who testified against using the National Guard to help carry out deportations of illegal immigrants, claimed he was not at the hearing to discuss his “personal perspective.”

Live by snotty comments and die by snotty comments.
From the article:
“was one of hundreds of generals who endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris during the presidential campaign prior to her defeat by Trump”
Hundreds?
From 1775 to 1939 we had 10 four star generals.
From 1940 to present we had 236.

Hundreds of generals endorsing Harris is both telling and disconcerting regarding our military's leadership.
> … the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing titled, “How Mass Deportations Will Separate American Families, Harm our Armed Forces, and Devastate Our Economy.”
WTF is that title? Since when does a hearing need a title?
Maj. Gen. Randy Manner is traitor and stain on the Military, the man should be ashamed of himself!
Courts martial him under the General Article.
You don’t bad-mouth the citizens you serve, and you sure as hell don’t deserve a pension.
Psychopathic leftists like Randy Manner need to be removed from the military.
what a puke, Hegseth will have his hands full cleaning up our military.
Are Generals supposed to endorse candidates?
I think we should invest in companies that manufacture military grade blindfolds.
Is it possible to court martial a retired officer?
“Manner, who testified against using the National Guard to help carry out deportations of illegal immigrants,”
“claimed he was not at the hearing to discuss his “personal perspective.”
And then he went on to discuss his personal perspectives.

The line of “norms” broken by the left, which really got going with the Obama administration, is long and ponderous. Military officers not speaking out on political issue, is a vital norm that went by the wayside. It’s going to be a busy first day on January 20, and firing this joker needs to be on the list
Private would be best.
” I’m not sure his supporters even know what fascism looks like.” After watching this clip, they do. look in the mirror , gen.
Yep. The Secretary can bring them back on Active Duty. And his remarks, even while retired, were subject to the UCMJ.
Should have asked that asshat what he thinks a fascist is and give an example of one from the political arena.
It is quite clear to me we have a general officer corps that is beyond saving in most cases. This guy would be the perfect example. I bet he would believe that if a couple divisions of Mexico moved across the border, they would not be removeable by the Army either. What a jerk.
