"Z" must be going nuts....
Joe..Wadda ya mean you can't do a damn thing.
And, Russia has now had the opportunity to operationally test the missile. That will go a long way towards refining and improving the system and keep them well in front of currently lagging US systems.
If it was true, would Biden still be sending Seven Billion Dollars to Ukie Land?
Why yes. Yes he would.
Putin reminds me of Billy Jack where he tells the hooligan: “I am going to put my left foot in your right ear, and there is not a damn thing you can do about it”.
He has no idea what is spouting. Its just an IRBM which the Patriot Battery is designed to take out in its terminal stage. If not that then THAAD will do the trick.
Science says hypersonics won’t live up to their billing.

For starters, being hypersonic works at crossed purposes with being undetectable because air friction will super-heat the skin, producing a YUGE infrared signature and making it more easily detectable than slow-poke supersonics. Not to mention being hypersonic requires thin air (= high altitude).
The Godless Russians spent themselves into bankruptcy trying to match America’s Star Wars program (which never really existed). This could be more of the same in reverse. “Let’s goad the Yanks into building an unworkable and hyper-expensive weapons system.”
We’ll have to see one used in anger to determine which side knows what they’re talking about.
All ballistic missiles are hypersonic. And if you don’t get them before they hit their zenith….you are not hitting them.
All of this Russian Missile crap is hyperbole. I continue to be surprised at the number of FR folks who are falling for the drama.
Russia isn’t going to nuke anyone. They are simply struggling to convince their own population why they cannot beat a bunch of farmers in three years. It must be embarrassing.
Ukraine shot down a hypersonic missile over Kiev with a Patriot missile. I would not count on that happening often but I also have no doubt the next generation of laser anti-missile systems will be able to do the job. How long before those are operational I don’t know but light is a lot faster than any missile will ever travel.
The other question is how many hypersonic missiles does Russia actually have and how many can it produce? My guess would be not a lot. Components and materials are likely scarce which is why we have seen very few of Russia’s wonder weapons on the front lines in Ukraine. Instead we 1970’s era tanks and 50 year old contract soldiers hired at high cost and expended like corn dogs at an LSU game.
“Erik Prince on Sunday Morning Futures: The US has “No Means” to Shoot Down Russia’s Mach 9 Hypersonic Ballistic Missiles that Were Just Fired on Ukraine”
Not just that, THEY ARE HIGHLY MOBILE - so they’re first-strike proof also.
Checkmate for the Neocons.
At this point the ability to hit that thing, if we have it, isn’t something we’d talk about.
Not all hypersonic missiles are the same. ICBMs are clearly mach 5 plus so they classify as such but really they don’t compare or compete with the 2 new lethal types. Because of their parabolic trajectory even at mach 25 they get taken out.
The first new type is a cruise type missile, low altitude. From what we’ve read they hard to see and track and if the get mobility are almost impossible to stop.
Second new type is a hypersonic glide vehicle type and are hard to track especially if they have the significant mobility that has been talked about.
It’s hard to say if our air defense systems and interceptors can do an effective job because we would need their munitions to test out to see.
It’s certainly dicey but if the new categories of hypersonic missiles come as advertised then I’m inclined to agree that our ability to stop them is not great at best.
Late 2021, when Russia was building up forces along Ukraine's border, Price wanted a "lend lease" plan to send 200 recently decommissioned combat planes to Ukraine. He said that this would have deterred Russia's Invasion. As if a last-minute dump of retired aircraft would come with the pilots, ground crews and logistics for maintenance and munitions, and air operations, without direct NATO involvement in the war.
Prince was a Navy SEAL. He was not in the Air Force and does not know how to run an air combat, does not know how ballistic missiles or air defenses work. What ballistic missile defenses the US is working on, Prince is not going to know until he sees it in the news.
Take what he says beyond what he knows with a few grains of salt.
No means that he knows of, I somehow doubt that he has been read into every defense project there is. Former Navy Seal and Blackwater private military member doesn’t give you an all access pass to secret projects.
Develop lasers that can shoot them down. Moving at the speed of light has definite advantages.
We have Space Force, NASA, Space X, and Elon Musk.
I don’t at all want WW3 or any nuclear exchange, but I do believe we still have the upper hand over Russia.
That’s the whole point of hypersonic missiles - no one currently has a way to shoot them down.
