Stolen valor is something that bugs most folks, especially us Vets, and if it's a fact, you're seeing a major campaign issue

Misrepresenting one’s military record for personal gain, such as political office, is not only low brow, it is the theft of the public trust.
It’s also a disgusting slap in the face to all who served in the military, and to their families, particularly for those who sacrificed everything.
While it’s possible for misunderstandings, I find that there are very few honest mistakes in politics. Especially democrats.
Are you seeing a major campaign issue?? Da’Nang Dick Blumenthal outwardly lied about serving in Vietnam and keeps moving forward.
I hope you are correct and i also hope the Republicans keep pounding this but i don’t know its going to be a Swift Boat issue. Also- Vance seems to imply tampon tim claimed to have carried a weapon into battle- is that true???

Just because he spent 20 years in the NG doesn’t make you any hero. Most likely the reason he did is for the perks and extra paycheck or even summer camp as many guys did it to get away from the wife for a couple weeks but when it came to deployment, he drew the line and tucked tail and ran.

It isn’t stolen valor to me (68-76) but it does show a lack of integrity, a diminution of what honorable service he did accomplish while serving and an utter stupidity in this age of the internet. All he had to do was to complete the coursework but he opted for the easily checked lie counting on others’ gullibility.

To make your point, however, consider Mister Richard Blumenthal who falsely claimed, apparently several times, that he served in Vietnam.
Rather than apologize for the deceit, he dismissed dismissed the theft of valor as misspeaking and not being sufficiently clear or precise.
And, the not-very-choosey Connecticut Dems made him a senator.
Like hillary claiming she came under fire in Bosnia- but worse....
