House Speaker Mike Johnson today announced the Republicans who will serve on the Bipartisan House Task Force to investigate the Trump assassination attempt and sparked an uproar among conservatives in the process.
The seven GOPers listed are as follows:
• Pennsylvania Rep. Mike Kelly • Tennessee Rep. Mark Green • Ohio Rep. Dave Joyce • Florida Rep. Laurel Lee • Florida Rep. Michael Waltz • Louisiana Rep. Clay Higgins • Texas Rep. Pat Fallon
While there are a few terrific choices including Rep. Higgins and Rep. Green, he also includes one of the House’s biggest RINOs in Rep. David Joyce and several establishment GOPers.
Moreover, two individuals with impeccable qualifications to investigate the Trump assassination attempt, Arizona Rep. Eli Crane and Florida Rep. Cory Mills, are missing altogether. Crane is an ex-Navy SEAL sniper while Mills is a respected former Army Combat Vet.
Was Johnson worried they would explore whether the incident was a set up to have Trump killed as Mills suggested was a possibility earlier this month?
Conservative political commentator Benny Johnson tweeted following the news that Republican House members were furious over Johnson seemingly caving to the Democrats.

Why not put an ex-sniper on the task force?
That would seem to make sense.
Wonder if he is being “pressured” not to include a sniper or former LE?
I’ll just self-delete my feelings about this. Only words, after all.
Regardless of who he put on the panel it would piss some folks off.
I expect it will go nowhere like most panel investigations do. Even if they come up with indisputable proof of a deep state plot to kill Trump including the names of those involved not a F’n thing will happen to them because that’s how corrupt the entire government is.

Yep. Investigations like this one are not meant to find the truth. They are meant to keep people calm. Therefore, the final report will be weak and inconclusive.
Meh. It’s the uniparty. What do you expect. They talk a big game, but don’t want to piss off their lunch buddies in the D party. It’s all just show. That’s why I left the party early in Dubya’s second term. It’s like breaking up with a long term girlfriend. It takes a while to be completely mentally severed. In this case it took me three or four years. But it happened.
I blame all our reps who did this to us.
The voters could take him out to show we’re not messin’ around-too cowardly. Couda’ done it with Mccarthy in the primary-no opposition. Look at the result-he’s gone.

The better question is why put RINOs on who will give the Dems an effective majority?
