With the end of their convention, the Republican Party and Donald Trump have reached what in military theory is called the “culminating point.” “The culminating point of victory,” according to the Modern War Institute at West Point, “is the threshold when military advantages peak and then rapidly turn into disadvantages.”
As an infantryman, I was taught that the culminating point is a paradox; it’s a moment of maximum vulnerability at a time when you believe you are at maximum strength. Let’s say your platoon has just taken a hill. Exhausted and jubilant, you’ve achieved your objective. Your troops have sent the defeated enemy fleeing down its reverse slope. You stand triumphant atop that hill. Psychologically, you’re vulnerable to believing two things: that your victory is complete and that your enemy no longer poses a meaningful threat. The temptation then becomes to destroy the last of your enemy, to take more ground. If you do this, if you don’t recognize your culminating point, if you try to remain on the offensive too long instead of setting up a good defense, you become dangerously exposed to a counterattack by a regrouped enemy.
…To win, Democrats must regroup and counterattack.

We voted for him in 2020, he won, we want revenge! There will not be a “peak”
This is going to make the DNC Convention very interesting. There is no way they can mount an uplifting program to compete with the Republicans when they have a floor fight for the nomination to manage.
This would have to kill any plans for a virtual nomination because there are no nominees in contention right now. With Biden stepping down before the convention, party elites cannot just insert a candidate of their choice like they could if their confirmed candidate becomes incapacitated.
The next few weeks will be about names being floated, nominees either accepting or declining to run at the convention, and then forming convention teams to help them through the brokered convention process. Whoever emerges from the convention as the nominee will not have a campaign team in place to hit the ground running unless they inherit Biden's team, which currently belongs to Kamala Harris.
Ultimately, we will see who declines to run because they want to protect their viability for 2028, meaning they think President Trump will win no matter whom the Democrats run.

In other words “we will steal this election by election fraud.”
Where is that claim coming from? Is it a Q and the Anons thing or something else?
If you start to believe this crap, ask yourself a simple question. Would you rather be ahead or behind?
Being ahead is NOT a bad thing. It doesn’t mean you will lose. You can solidify the lead and build on it.
Sure . . .
The hand wringing on this website (FR) has not even come close to peaking though.
I going to need a break.
“ Perhaps the assassin should have been scheduled for mid-October.”
Exactly, what do they want ?
Jeez if only that kid didn’t shoot Trump a few months later
I do believe Harris will eventually get the nomination, but it will be a contentious DNC in Chicago and it won’t be a unifying moment for them. There will be some bitter people leaving Chicago thinking they should’ve been the nominee instead of her.
Revelation 3: 9 boy needs a helocopter ride.
I'll always believe that the early date was purposely put forward by the Democrats who saw just how fast POTATUS was in decline, and they had probably tried to have conversations with him and Jill about him stepping down but they were viciously refused.
Four months is an eternity in politics.
Just like the press hid Joe's dementia, they will hide Kamala's stupidity and portray Joe as a loving, patriotic war hero/grandfather who unselfishly sacrificed the leadership for the country. /spit
“Most Trump voters have been waiting for almost 4 years to vote for him again. Doubt that they will change their minds now.”
The country will be 100 days worse off come Noember 5.
Wait till the Anchorbaby Kamala starts crisscrossing the country... gaffes and flubs daily.
This year is super crazy.
We do not even know the exact date when the delegates are going to vote for a nominee.
That is totally unprecedented and is due to the on again/off again talk of a virtual vote.
It is one day at a time this year—time to toss the crystal ball in the trash.
Just like the press hid Biden's dementia, they will not cover any of her gaffes and flubs.
Dear Elliot. Who says it peaked?
California dreaming. 😉
I think we want a nice steady pacer from here on in. Trump should pace himself. He’s running against no body. No one is going to change their vote...but I bet millions of Biden loyalists will simply not vote.
