David Pecker, a key witness in the Manhattan trial, testified that he agreed to execute "catch and kill" deals expressly in service of helping Trump's 2016 presidential campaign --- a plot that prosecutors have labeled a conspiracy to illegally influence the election.
In his third day [04/25/2024] of testimony, Pecker, the former publisher of the National Enquirer tabloid, offered jurors a vivid recounting of two such arrangements: one with Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model who claimed she had a yearlong relationship with Trump, and the other with Stormy Daniels, a porn star who alleged a sexual encounter with Trump, and whose deal is at the center of the New York felony charges against him.
[NOTE: Later in testimony, David Pecker related that he refused to set up a Stormy Daniels deal.]

So politico’s take on a legal issue that’s not ille6is bad for Trump.
Go figure.
On Twitter, folks are saying that the law Bragg is using to elevate these noncrimes to a state felony is only applicable to state elections, not federal elections.
Any lawyers care to opine on this?
Cohen seems to have been in on the Stormy Daniels “deal”. As in, standing to monetarily benefit from it. Judas-like.
Hasn’t the statute of limitations kind of expired on this alleged incident.? This has nothing to do with why they have him in court. Isn’t it some bookkeeping thing?
Didn’t Stormy write a letter stating she and Trump never had sex ?
article is mum on the third story, the doorman’s tale of the love child, which can’t help introducing reasonable doubt.
“Didn’t Stormy write a letter stating she and Trump never had sex ?”
Believe the answer to this is yes. Haven’t seen an image of that letter but have heard it exists.
Article is not mum on the doorman.
The Feds love to tell the states that they can’t do the Feds’ when they ate falling down on it—such as securing the border.
...But now the Feds can poach a state’s laws to “enforce” when it suits them?
Have heard this, don’t know whether it’s true or not.
s/b “...do the Feds’ job...”
Haven’t heard this. Who is the doorman?
So?
Harvey Weinstein’s verdict was just tossed due to superfluous testimony not related to the case at hand. This is exactly the same thing. I hope Trump’s team objected and the judge overruled them. It taints the jury.

She was on a TV show the other night. Forgot the question...but her response was...who would you vote for...a man with a good record or one with 91 indictments against him.
Stormy Daniels also insisted she did NOT have an affair with Trump. Kind of worth mentioning Politoco? Oh guess not if your a propaganda rag rather than about journalism.
What story did he “catch and kill”? Was it about a laptop?
EC
Lolz.
ABC/NBC/CBS/ etc catch and kill all day long to help Democrats.
Nothing illegal about that. The Enquirer was never about news. It was about conspiracy theories, and making stuff up. Now, if you look at the NY Slimes and every other liberal rag in the country which claims to be news, now you have a story. Maybe the Trump team should subpoena every editor of every liberal rag and see what they hid.
sorry I missed it i that aside, ; I think he may have given defense what they need as well, reasonable doubt to motivation.
