Republicans, along with Democrats, some communists, socialists, and independents . . . stormed the beaches of Normandy, June 6, 1944.

Not all Jews who were victims of the Nazis supported the Zionest movement. Marek Edelman, a surviving leader of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising was one. However, Israel is an established state, and Hamas attacked, and sexually abused, women and children. I don't know how anyone could not understand what started this war. Hamas does not want peace. It started the conflict, violated all code of war, and the status quo ante cannot be reestablished now. They made the choice for war, and rejected peace.
