Even if you are an atheist your rights do not come from Congress. The Bill of Rights restricts government not men.

That’s why it’s so easy for libs to take your God given rights away. Remember Obama said the Constitution was faulty because it said what the government could not do. Democrats want to change it.

Well, technically...the line, "...are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights..." comes from the Declaration of Independence.

But your point is correct.

I suppose it was our mistake to let leadership swear an oath to a God they do not believe in. The Constitution has few defenders.

Yep. The concept that our Rights as human beings have been endowed by a Creator cannot be accepted by people who reject the premise of a Supreme Being. Our founders presumed a Christian nation, with citizens maintaining an awareness of government’s place below God and the inalienable rights He confers upon us as individuals.
