Applicants who self-identified as a member of a race the Academy wished to privilege—at the time I was on the Admissions Board it was African American, Hispanic, and Native American—were briefed separately to the committee not by a white member but by a minority Navy lieutenant. Briefings (a minute and forty seconds per applicant, no more) ran through a number of factors quite quickly and offered a recommendation that we had been told was appropriate: “qualified” for USNA if grades A/B for white applicants (but not minorities, who needed only C grades), 600 score in each part of the SAT for white applicants (but about 550 for minorities who come to USNA without remediation), and Whole Person Multiple (points given for grades/tests, school leadership positions, and sports) of at least 55,000 for whites, no bottom for minorities.
This is aside from the fact that 20 percent of the class could be sent to the remedial, taxpayer-supported prep school for a year, also with no minimum for scores. Other possible recommendations included a year at a civilian prep school that the Naval Academy Foundation pays for, where they also do a thirteenth year (the profile for this was white lacrosse players, not black football players), and USNA “pool,” a sort of wait list for nonrecruited whites, who typically weren’t tracked to NAPS or Foundation schools. The athletic department offered its list of recruits that were invariably deemed “qualified” no matter how low in scores, because many if not most to go to NAPS and only a few to USNA directly.

It wasn’t number of soldiers. It was aircraft, aircraft carriers, tanks, shells, etc. Read Brute Force by John Ellis. If I recall correctly, we produced 113 aircraft carriers during WWII while the Axis produced 11.
I remember reading an interview of a German soldier and he was amazed about fighting the Americans. He said if they met any resistance. They pulled back and fired barrages of artillery shells.
Just captured German soldiers in Italy were stunned at the long lines of American tanks waiting in line to move to the front.
That's right. Including whatever semblance of "social cohesion" that might exist today.

And that is just the cold hard truth that many...most (?) don't want to acknowledge.
The millions of foreign nationals violating our national sovereignty and laws are not high skilled workers coming from modern societies.
They are the uneducated, ignorant, perpetually lazy and unemployed who are coming from failing or outright failed cultures and societies.
That's not a desirable combination to "import" and will only accelerate the decline of this country.
Couple that with ever increasing job automation and there is even less "demand" for someone to "pick our vegetables."
Is there any sane person who thinks this is 'fair' or right or beneficial? When I was in the civil rights movement in the early 60's democrats in the South had different 'tests' for the right to vote. Black citizens were given tests no one could pass. It was wrong, it wasn't fair and results only benefit corrupt democrat racists. This is similar - it's unfair and racist and the victims are white. It's not the color - it's the crime. Democrat thugs were worth fighting back then with their dirty tricks and injustice and they're worth fighting today with their dirty tricks and injustice.

Blacks make up 13% of population. Then:

Based on these numbers, how in the heck are you going to get QUAILFIED people in representative numbers in high intelligence professions, much less the extreme over representation all companies seem to be striving for? It just doesn’t add up.

The only problem is that if we lose a war, the Elites will draw the wrong conclusion. They will blame racism and double down.
There is a lack of high-IQ blacks, and thus a fierce competition for the ones there are.
The US military wants black officers, is unable to out-bid the private sector, and will get officers who have no business being given command responsibility.
It's not in any sense "our" military (except that we are forced pay for it). They are now the military of our enemies in Washington, and four years of Trump didn't change that.
I'm fine with them lacking cohesion.
The academies have turned into a farce. 4 years of hazing...upper classmen really get their rocks hazing..., chicken shit rules, DEI indocrintion, etc. Of course a lot of this crap has been going on for decades. Beyond hope now. Used to be ROTC, Officer Training School, Officer Candidate School taught you everything you needed to be a good, effective officer. The latter took 3-6 months, and 4 freaking years of BS at an academy is counter-productive in my view. Close ‘em down.
That was when merit determined recruitment and advancement.
When “diversity” numbers are supreme, you can’t know if an officer got there because he was good.

You wouldn’t want the best for a job when you can employ some freak show now would ya?
