"Hezbollah is dragging Lebanon to a possible war, and is making mistakes," Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said at a situational assessment near the Lebanese border Saturday, adding that the Lebanese citizens would be the first to pay the price for this kind of mistake. "What we can do in Gaza, we can also do in Beirut."
In his speech, made alongside the commander of the IDF's Division 91 and other senior officers serving in the region, the defense minister stated that Hezbollah is no longer making just provocations, but aggression, following several exchanges of fire over the border throughout October and early November.
"Our pilots are sitting in their cockpits, their aircraft facing north," Gallant said, stressing that the IDF already has mobilized enough forces for its goals in the South against Hamas, and the Israel Air Force has plenty of power to spare. "We haven't even used 10% of the IAF's power in Gaza."

The hezzies are also cowards. Only when and if the IDF is completely bogged down in Stalingrad-type house-to-house (which was the hammy game plan) will they go all in. Otherwise they will only keep up the harassment to keep some IDF strength in the north.

How is that whole area not pounded into a fine dust from all the fighting over the centuries?

Muslims have the highest population growth rate in the world at . . . what is expected to be 60% by 2060. Note this is nearly all from birthrate, not religious conversion.
Note also a large number of this is not from the Middle East. Indonesia is largest at 229 million, then Pakistan 200 million, then India at 195 million and Bangladesh at 153 million.
The middle east countries add up to fewer than these big 4, but they have the same explosive population growth rates, far above Israel.
And note of that 9.5 million Israel population, 1.5 million are Muslims.
So all this talk about kill them all and wipe them out is just absurd and is NEVER going to happen. Better find a way to live with them because they are NEVER going away.
Israel’s game plan in Gaza is pretty evident. Cut off the main threat in Garza city, bulldoze it to rubble, then take on the next 1/3rd. After the main Hamas forces are annihilated, it should be a cake walk to the Egyptian border to the Mediterranean.

It’s because they haven’t paid a price that they keep attacking. Just like the 300 year indian wars of repeated and recurring belligerence against colonials and Americans. The belligerents can assimilate or be reduced to uninhabited, guarded reservations. Which, imo, is pretty much what Gaza was before they broke out and raided. That is also a long, well-known hallmark of the indian wars.
It doesn’t matter what your plan is. The birthrate defines inevitability. Israel will be consumed from within. 1.5 million of their 9.5 million are Muslim and their birthrate is 2X non Muslim.
You Have No Choice to find a way to live with them. If their goal is to kill you, then better find another locale to live, because if you stay there your kids or grandkids WILL die.
