Someone should buy her a helicopter to make her commute quick

I used to work with a few of these types. They’re worse than they sound. Life is supposed to be like it looks on social media, until it smacks you in the face.

She’d not last a week in an IT job. IT is basically 24/7 - the more crucial your job is, the more this is true. When shit breaks - which it always does - who ya gonna call? That would be YOU at 2 AM. And you’re on it until it’s fixed.

How long do you have to sit there listening to the commercial? No skip button.

One would THINK she knew these things when she accepted the job offer. She knew where she lives and the address
of the job. I know no one likes to think ahead...but c’mon girl, you should have seen this coming.

I despair for our future. Some of these kids are delusional.

This was posted the other day.

But for those who didn’t bother to watch it…the woman isn’t complaining about her job. She is complaining about her commute and how it leaves her with little time.

She doesn’t need to “suck it up”, she needs to find a way to fill her commute time and she needs to learn how to manage her time when she gets home.

This type of “shock” happens to every kid getting their first job. What is different is we would bitch to our friends and family….and the rest of the world wouldn’t know or chime in.

Tik Toc is going to be the end of these kids.

I worked my way through college. And I felt lucky when I got my first professional job after I graduated. No complaints.

True that. And before I finished high school I spoke with people already working in the field I wanted to go into (software programming) and asked them what kind of training was really good and worth spending time and money on. Every advisor at every college I talked to told me their college was the best --- I realized they couldn't all be right.

So I realized that whatever training I got from whatever college or other source would ultimately be tested the day I started slinging out my resume asking people to hire me as a programmer. That led me to the realization that I should ask those people their opinion on training before I got the training so that I'd know that my training would be good (BS in computer science from a particular university in my state, though admittedly that kind of training might not be best in today's climate). I had that figured out before I finished 11th grade and don't consider myself a genius for doing so -- it simply makes sense. It's why I took my first software job before I walked the stage and made decent coin from day 1.

And working full time all through college left me with little college debt. Like Leaning Right, I appreciate my software work a lot more because it's a lot better than the grueling hot grocery warehouse work I did in college.

No kidding. 44 years building software. Recently, I'm stuck configuring other people's software into kubernetes clusters. Very frustrating as I have no control over the actual code. It's intricate creation of configuration and getting "pods" to coordinate. I miss the simplicity of writing kernel device drivers or digital signal processing where I have full control of the code.

This week it is keycloak. I have a CAC card authenticator that needs to be followed with a government consent page before completing the login process. It is just obtuse. Inserting the consent page is dirt simple after username/password. Not so with CAC/x509.

She’ll be fine. It just takes a few years for reality to sink in.

I was 45 minutes away from my first job. But I generally worked about 60 hours. It could have been much worse. This girl will be fine in about a year. She will shack up with a guy she meetings at work. Then live with him near work. And she will have lots of time.

In the early 80s, I opted to take the San Diego trolley to a job in downtown San Diego. Cheaper than driving and paying for parking downtown. I used the time to write a complete 6809 trainer ROM for the college where I was teaching in the evenings.

Roll forward to 2009. A long commute from Rancho San Diego to University City. I wasn't enjoying the daily traffic jams. Solution? Transported a motorcycle from Idaho to San Diego. The commute on the bike was my daily recreation. Faster point to point than the cage and more fun. Gas mileage was 3x better than the cage at a time of high gas prices. Most workdays were 8 AM to 9 PM...no lunch break.

4 hour trip to work. Might want to live closer to her workplace. One of the factor that should be considered when looking for employment. Didn’t she factor that into the equation?

The world needs strippers, but she’ll find that takes even more time than a job does.

Eh. She’s a princess. She’s used her looks to get guys to kiss her heinies and use them and her life’s been really easy until now. This is nothing new with the princesses. There are always lots of simps to slave for the princesses. She’ll find someday work to carry her water soon enough.

So sorry that she can’t go out and party everyday now. Boo hoo. My heart bleeds.

I agree with your comments 100%, she is really complaining about the commute and should have kept it private instead of broadcasting it to the world.

As far as dating goes... yeah.. if you don’t meet your special someone by the time you have finished college.. your odds of meeting anyone marriage worry drop dramatically, even more so if you don’t attend church.

THAT is the garbage thats coming out of US University these days? No...this is fake news. No way that chick is disciplined enough to earn a 4-yr degree. No fkn way. Her communication skills are sht. Her oratory skills are sht. Her grammar is sht. Her deportment is that of an unhinged hysterical female. No one wants to work with that nonsense. If she did get a degree her major was Gender Studies or some other useless BS liberal arts garbage.
