Wall Street Journal Op-Ed: Don’t Hire My Anti-Semitic Law Students, by Steven Davidoff Solomon (UC-Berkeley):
[I]f you don’t want to hire people who advocate hate and practice discrimination, don’t hire some of my students. Anti-Semitic conduct is nothing new on university campuses, including here at Berkeley.
Last year, Berkeley’s Law Students for Justice in Palestine asked other student groups to adopt a bylaw that banned supporters of Israel from speaking at events. It excluded any speaker who “expressed and continued to hold views or host/sponsor/promote events in support of Zionism, the apartheid state of Israel, and the occupation of Palestine.” Nine student groups adopted the bylaw. ...
The bylaw caused an uproar. It was rightly criticized for creating “Jew-free” zones. Our dean—a diehard liberal—admirably condemned it but said free-speech principles tied his hands. The campus groups had the legal right to pick or exclude speakers based on their views. The bylaw remains, and 11 other groups subsequently adopted it. ...
The student conduct at Berkeley is part of the broader attitude against Jews on university campuses that made last week’s massacre possible. It is shameful and has been tolerated for too long.
It’s time for the adults to take over, and that includes law firms looking for graduates to hire. ... If you are a legal employer, when you interview students from Berkeley, Harvard, NYU or any other law school this year, ask them what organizations they belong to. Ask if they support discriminatory bylaws or other acts and resolutions blaming Jews and Israelis for the Hamas massacre. If a student endorses hatred, it isn’t only your right but your duty not to hire him. Do you want your clients represented by someone who condones these monstrous crimes?

Very true. On all levels. The woke stuff, and the overly political activist people? Time to go. Companies should be focused on making money and not "fixing the world" (which always makes things worse). Grow up. Be an adult. Just do your job. And many of the young people simply can't.
Then they get hired by DC Democrats, develop connections, and the big law firms hire them anyway.
Is Paul Caron still employed by Berkley? Probably not ... guessing he was fired shortly after this appeared in WSJ.
Oops! That should be is Steven Davidoff Solomon still employed by Berkley? Probably not. Can’t have dissenting opinion in Commiefornia!
“The campus groups had the legal right to pick or exclude speakers based on their views.”
Being identified on a spreadsheet as belonging to an overtly. anti free speech, anti Semitic organization or being identified forever as a member of Antifa that will affect their careers and earnings is the only thing these lowlifes really fear.
Free speach means you can ban the speach of anyone you disagree with. Campus Groups are under the charter of the University of California which is the 4th branch of the California government under the California state Constitution. You are bound under the 14th amendment to recognize all other amendments.
It's not hard unless you have abandoned the Constitution.
By coincidence, the University of California was founded in 1868, the same year that the 14th amendment was ratified.
While corporate america might check the credentials of Berkeley Law School graduates, the Federal Government and Law Firms that feed at the govt trough, will look at graduates, who are member of radical organizations, as fabulous candidates to work for them.
What a coincidence.
The Dean of the Berkeley Law School (Boalt Hall) is uber-liberal Erwin Chemerinsky.
I wouldn’t hire any of them to mop floors.
Are there any lawyers coming out of Cal-Berkley that are not anti-semites?
“Companies should be focused on making money and not “fixing the world.””
Blackrock,WEF and DeepState don’t give a damn about anything except RULING the World !!

Will they see them for what they are and abandon support for them--as they should?
Most of them will be searching for Starbucks and Uber jobs until they can find a why over to Europe to go galivanting around for a few years.
>> is Steven Davidoff Solomon still employed by Berkley?
He’s still listed on the Berkley law website; for now.
