Just when you think that this story can’t get any worse, somehow it does. It is being reported that the wildfires that we just witnessed in Maui were the deadliest wildfires in the entire history of the United States, and according to Moody’s Analytics they caused somewhere between four and six billion dollars in economic damage. But if authorities had responded more competently, the outcome could have been much different. In fact, the fire that ultimately completely destroyed Lahaina could have been controlled if fire crews had not “left the scene even though the fire was still burning”…
Maui locals have questioned why the blaze which developed into deadly wildfires that swept across the island was left unattended by firefighters hours before it spread.
A fire broke out on the outskirts of Lahaina at around 6.30am on Tuesday, August 8 and was declared ‘100 percent contained’ several hours later. Fire crews then left the scene even though the fire was still burning within the containment area.
But within a few hours, there was a ‘flareup’ which quickly spiraled out of control and fire crews who responded again were unable to extinguish it.
Once the fire came roaring back to life, hundreds of lives could have been saved if authorities had not put up a barricade that blocked the only paved road out of Lahaina…

I hear that people died in their cars because of police barricades.
Words fail me..
This fire was the act of the Devil and they couldn’t buy your land if you escaped
Why Was A Barricade Blocking The Only Paved Road Out Of Lahaina?

Good question. And why was the water turned off so these wildfires could not be contained?
Ask orca wimpfree.
I’m reminded of that scene from The Truman Show. When Truman started to realize his whole life was a sham, and he tried to escape by driving out of the city. Only to be stopped and blocked and hindered at every turn so that he could not leave.
And who set the fires? The power lines didn’t short out until the poles burned down.
For the same reason there was a door on the showers which kept the Zyklon B from escaping.
“Good question. And why was the water turned off so these wildfires could not be contained?”
...that was the work of the Director of Water Resources (or whatever they call it). He said there needed to be thoughtful discussions about a “fair and equitable” distribution of water. He was an Obama appointee. (I’m paraphrasing from memory and an earlier post on FR)
It was a planned die off.
Actually there were two ways out of town. And both blocked.
Human sacrifice to the old Hawaii gods…

Died? Burned alive is what happened, no need to sanitize it.
The cops who put up the barricades should be tried for murder.
A person could be forgiven if he theorized that the local officials tried to maximize the destruction. Eco zealots love wild fires to sell global warming. This disaster gave them a huge body count while putting billions in valuable real estate on the market.
The power lines were so poorly maintained they literally broke off the poles when the wind hit over 60MPH.
There’s videos of the fire starting. The wires were twisting like jump ropes and just snapped off the poles.
This was gross negligence on the part of the power company and every government agency on Maui.
Frankly this event was inevitable given the DEI incompetence of the responsible parties.
DEI=DIE
I read that tourists were allowed to leave.
who ordered it put there???
