It's the accusation that no one saw coming. On Monday, Aug. 14, Michael Oher -- the former NFL star who inspired the Oscar-nominated film The Blind Side -- filed legal documents in Tennessee court requesting it terminate a conservatorship after alleging Leigh Anne Tuohy and Sean Tuohy lied about adopting him and tricked him into making them his conservators shortly after he turned 18.
Oher played eight seasons in the NFL and reportedly earn nearly $40 million over his illustrious career......
In documents obtained by ET, the 37-year-old claims the Tuohys tricked him into making them his conservators less than three months after he turned 18 in 2004, allegedly telling him there was no consequential difference between being adopted and entering into a conservatorship, giving them legal authority to make business deals in his name.
Oher only learned in February that the documents he was asked to sign by the Tuohys, under the belief that it was part of the "adoption process," were actually conservatorship papers that would strip away his legal rights, the petition says.
The 14-page petition, filed in Shelby County, Tennessee, probate court, alleges that the Tuohys used their power as conservators to negotiate a deal with 20th Century Fox that paid them and their biological children -- Collins Tuohy and Sean Tuohy Jr. -- millions of dollars in royalties from The Blind Side. The petition alleges that all four members of the Tuohy family were paid $225,000 for the film plus 2.5% of the film's proceeds.
The conservatorship was granted until Oher reached the age of 25 or until the court terminated the order, but the arrangement was never terminated, Oher's petition claims.

Even under the kindest interpretation of the movie, you’d have to conclude this guy was dumb as a box of rocks. The family probably did him a huge favor by taking control of his finances.
So terminate it.

I think we have Oher retired from the NFL and was used to a nice income. I think now he sees the Tuohy fortune and wants it. Or his agent perhaps?
Moral of the story: don’t even bother to try to help any of these cretinous knuckledraggers. They will turn on you.

If it weren’t for the Tuohys he’d likely have died in an alley. The race baiting Professional Victims Society has gotten to him.
This is the problem for these professional athletes that retire young... If you’re not good with money, the money eventually runs out. Then you need a new revenue source.

He married his girlfriend of 17 years and 4 children last November.

Oher is a stupid shill of his agent/lawyer. I am guessing he spent all his money. The book and the movie is not about him. There are thousands of books by talented athletes. They don’t sell very much.
The book is about her. She was the unlikely character who made him successful, a guy with talent like so many other talented people. She picked him up. She got him through high school and in to the best college program. She let him (a 300 lb black 17 year old who did not have regular home manners) into her house to live while she guided him through school and tests and into the best football college.
He was already of adult age. He had to worry about failure. There are millions of kids with talent and no way to figure out the system. She did that. And he got a full college ride and millions of dollars from the NFL and endorsements. He did not need a person to “legally adopt” him for a single year. So if the story used that terminology instead of legal authority, that is fine for a book and movie. For all intents and purposes its the same thing, and the audience can understand it.
But the important thing. Is that the movie and book are about her, not him. Its her life. What she did is what is unusual. She let a 300 lb 17 year old into her house. That is not the southern housewife stereo type. She is the story. He and his struggles were a dime a dozen.
Michael Lewis wrote a book about her. The movie is about her. The academy award went to the actress who played her. Because she changed, she grew, she overcame. Blind Side describes her, not him. She should be paid for selling her story. If he wants to write his story thats ok. I bet he already has. And of course it won’t sell. Because nobody cares.
He was a very grateful kid. Who got a lot. And she helped. And then he spent it all. And became an ungrateful man. And is now connected with a lawyer and agent who is trying to cash in on something they do not deserve. And by the way. He will waste any money he gets from this lawsuit as well.
Would he even have achieved one tiny bit of his potential had it not been for the Tuohys rescuing him? Wasn’t he on the streets when they met him?

They were together since college and have 4 kids together.
