Blowing up that dam is damaging the Russians in the area they already control. It is far more likely that the Ukrainians blew the dam.

As they did that pipeline. They admitted to that one after all the propaganda was done. Both actions were far more damaging to Russia than to Ukraine or even Europe.

Ukraine would have to have placed explosives in the middle of the dam wall. A LOT of explosives. Since Russia has control over half that dam, it wasnt going to happen under their nose.
When Russia had full control over both sides, that is before the Khereson offensive, Ukraine claimed Russia had planted explosives. I think this explosion bears it out.
As for the damage to Russian forces, They intended to make it an area that Ukraine could not advance, and that was acheieved, But I suspect the breach was not intended to be so large, causing problems on the Russian side. Typical Russian miscalculation.

Major General Andrey Kovalchuk admitted to the Washington Post last December (2022) that his side had previously planned to blow up part of the Kakhovka Dam as part of its Kherson Counteroffensive. It therefore seemed unthinkable that Kiev would ultimately do just that over half a year later and then gaslight that Moscow was to blame when the Mainstream Media itself earlier reported the existence of Ukraine’s terrorist plans after quoting the same official who bragged about them.
(Reminds me of how Biden said that Fedzilla would stop the Nordstream pipeline and then it mysteriously exploded some time later for which Russia was blamed.)

Exactly, but in reality it doesn’t matter who did it, except for furthering narratives and agendas.
