The Los Angeles Dodgers told many in their fan base to go to hell by inviting, disinviting, and then comically re-inviting the hyper-sexualized, Catholic-mocking LGBTQIA+ activist group “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence” to come onto the field for Pride Night in June to accept a “community hero” award.
Their heroic acts include putting on “Hunky Jesus” revues and showcasing men dressed as Catholic nuns simulating gay sex in obvious (and obscene) attempts to mock the Church. Catholic League president Bill Donohue describes their antics:
[The group is] “known for simulating sodomy while dressed as nuns. They like to feature a ‘Condom Savior Mass,’ one that describes how the ‘Latex Host is the flesh for the life of the world.’ The ‘Sisters’ go by names such as ‘Sister Homo Fellatio’ and “Sister Joyous Reserectum.’ Just last month, they held an event mocking Our Blessed Mother and Jesus on Easter Sunday.”
Would you feel comfortable taking your family to a Friday evening game featuring this garbage? RedState Managing Editor and Dodgers fan Jennifer Van Laar was not thrilled with the situation:
Catholics are a huge part of the Dodger fanbase, and many of them aren’t pleased either. As our Matt Philbin reported, the group CatholicVote sent a public letter to team owner Mark Walter and CEO Stan Kasten announcing a boycott of the team to be publicized by a $1 million ad campaign.
Many people wondered what Dodger players would do or say about the complete disrespect their organization showed to their fans, many of whom are Hispanic, Christian, or faithful in some way.
This would be a great time for the many Catholic players on the @Dodgers and across the @MLB to make their voices heard about your public embrace of anti-Catholic bigotry.

Turns out, however, what we actually heard was a whole lot of nothing—the players stayed silent. Millions of dollars have that effect on people.
Now, the Dodgers are trying to stem the tide of outrage by trotting out star pitcher Clayton Kershaw to announce the team will host a “Christian Faith and Family Day” on July 30. The move almost accidentally emphasizes the point that hosting the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is deeply offensive to many Catholics. If it wasn’t—then why are they suddenly pandering to them?
Excited to announce the relaunch of Christian Faith and Family Day at Dodger Stadium on July 30th. More details to come— but we are grateful for the opportunity to talk about Jesus and determined to make it bigger and better than it was before COVID. Hope to see you on July 30th!

While it’s nice that the organization is honoring the Christian faith, a real show of contrition would have been to disinvite the group that spits on Catholics—if this were another religion other than Christianity that was being targeted, the despicable Southern Poverty Law Center would be all over place branding it “hate speech”—and the team would issue a letter to fans promising never to mix baseball and sexual identity politics again.
Simply put, there is no need to focus on sexual preferences and sexual identities at family-friendly sports events. What the hell do the two have to do with each other?
Unfortunately, like Disney, Target, Anheuser-Busch, and many other companies, the Dodgers don’t seem to care that they’ve alienated a huge portion of their fan base. It would appear that they’re more interested in their ESG points and the approval of the woke left than they are in the team’s fans.
Reaction was swift, and well deserved:

And:
LA Dodgers are literally trying to clean up their Hail Gay Satan night by holding a 'Christian Faith and Family Day'
No. There is no compromising with evil.
How about you just shut up and play ball

Like the aforementioned Target and Anheuser-Busch, who have lost many billions of dollars in market cap value this month, the LA Dodgers may also pay a significant price for shoving their woke, divisive politics down our throats in places where such discussions simply don’t belong.
I don’t go to a retail chain to be indoctrinated in gay or transgender ideology, I don’t go to a baseball game to watch a religion get disrespected, I don’t want to drink a beer from a company that shoves my face in the sand, and I don’t want to shave with razors from a corporation who is on record stating that they hate men.
This last-minute Hail Mary may mollify a few, but many will not forgive the Dodgers for basically telling them, “We kneel for the God of Woke.”
You can forgive, but you don’t have to forget.
More Dodgers fallout:
Yes, Bigotry Against Catholics Exists, and Ethno-Catholicism Is a Thing
Just another “________ Day,” to them.
The bleeding will stop when they invite and give an award to an anti Muslim group.
Shame on Clayton Kershaw for allowing himself to be a shill for this blasphemy. He is helping cover for it by trying to divert attention to their so called Christian Night, likely to be as thin and worthless as wet tissue.
I stopped supporting mlb, nfl, mls, and virtually all professional sports decades ago. I even stopped supporting nascar, albeit more recently.
Why does it take so long for people to see that these orgs are run by evil people?
You forgot the ncaa... who let men compete in women’s sports.
Why can’t they just play ball?
Hockey players stood up to this but they don’t have the hundred million dollar contracts that baseball players have. Not sure how well this will sit with the Hispanic community
That’s tragic. It seems they tried to be as careful as possible about AIDS-tainted blood for a few decades. Now I think I’ve heard they’re allowing those with HIV/AIDS to donate blood.
“Holding a grudge that long.., there’s someone almost fine about that.”
That’s funny. (And true.)
Damage is done, Dodgers!!
Whatever it takes. My focus is religious persecution toward ANY group, Muslims included. They seem to be more ready to fight for their beliefs than most other faiths. Sadly, this is no time for meekness because the left is depending on extermination of moral people to be a piece of cake. If we go gently into that “good night” we dishonor the God of the universe.
Baseball needs to be added to JCPenny, Bed Bath and Beyond, Disney, Busch, and Target dustbin. If these folks want to fill their businesses with sexual weirdos that's fine. Just don't expect traditional Americans to show up to watch THEIR kink.
No one is objecting to these groups having their own ceremonies but NO we don't want their crap forced on us. I doubt these folks would give us 30 minutes at a 'gay pride' event to preach to them about our values. They would shout us down after a few seconds.
Businesses need to make the call...If we're forced to listen to their side we're not going to pay for 'the privilege'...
That is probably what rankles us the most. Recall back in the 60s and 70s it was “just leave us alone in the privacy of our bedrooms.” Now it’s gone all the way to “celebrate our perversions or we will destroy you.”
People were fine with them keeping their perversions behind closed doors, but, like all despots, they have a need to control our lives and will simply not leave us alone.
I am not impressed. They are sponsoring Catholic Hate Speech.
Just stick to baseball, you morons.
Stick a fork in them, they are DONE.
You're right on this... also weirdo 'kink' has become a resume enhancer - with 'hire us' or we'll destroy your business. Effing bullies and thugs.
Is there a pool on what the next letter in LGBTQIA+ will be?
This reveals the actual contempt in which these people hold the rest of us. “OK, Throw ‘em a bone, they’ll shut up and continue to buy.”
Professional sports is no fun anymore.
