House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is warning GOP House members to vote for him for Speaker or else.
The GOP barely took over the US House of Representatives after this latest election steal but they somehow squeaked it out. The number of seats going to the GOP should have been 40 more based on history but we have a new way of electing people today and it’s based on whoever comes up with the most votes, legal and illegal.
After winning the House, the GOP must select a Speaker. Normally this would be the Minority Leader but not this year. Kevin McCarthy was Paul Ryan’s pick for the House and the GOP’s elite pick for the House but he’s not America’s pick for the House.
Many GOP Representatives will not vote for McCarthy for Speaker due to any number of reasons:
He lives with Frank Luntz
He’s never stood for anything
He’s against the MAGA movement (who could possibly be against making America greater?)
He allows the Dems to absolutely destroy our country
He’s weak at a time when America is under communist attack and he doesn’t seem to understand it or care.
Many House members say they’ll never vote for McCarthy.
McCarthy is now warning of disaster if he is not voted Speaker.

Well good then. I guess I'll just stay home on voting day & the I please both sides.
That makes sense. He was a congressman and knows the House. He’s worked in NY with GOPe people. He’s worked with suburban Dems like Bellone in Suffolk County. He also convinced 47% of NY voters to vote for him. They weren’t all MAGA Republicans.
I’m not saying I’m happy with KM as speaker - far from it. I’m not saying it’s is a good thing - this is obviously not what we wanted for 2022.
But we didn’t get the red wave. We barely squeaked out a R majority, much less a MAGA friendly majority. There is literally only a handful of MAGA house critters.
So we need to assess our situation, and MTG is the closest thing we have to a pure MAGA fighter in the House. She wouldn’t be saying this without good reason.
And it makes sense. She is saying the best way to leverage the MAGA lobby in the House is to control the swing vote - rather than fight over who has the title “Speaker”.
With such a thin majority, Speaker KM and his RINOs will not be able to score any victories without getting MAGA on board. And for these unprincipled RINOs, scoring victories is all they care about - they just want to feel important.
Every time speaker KM tries to pass something he will be begging MAGA to please get on board so he can score a win and not be embarrassed.
MAGA will have a seat at the table.
Many of these poster live in a fantasy world where conservatives should win everything and if they don’t, it must be because of voter fraud.
The reality is that the country is now center and heading center-left. Until we figure out how to win over more younger voters, we have to settle for what little we can get.

Still wondering why Trump gave his endorsement to this guy for Speaker of the House? Is Trump anti-MAGA now?
Depending on your age, it’s probably a good idea.
Not better for us, but I believe you wouldn’t be able to tell th difference with McCarthy.

There’s a lot of Purity here on Free Republic.
If we had a bigger margin in Congress there might be some realistic alternative to McCarthy. But for now it’s either a McCarthy as Speaker or some Democrat. With that binary choice take your pick.
