Plan Emerges for Democrats to Install Gavin Newsom as President without an Election
SLAY ^ | November 14, 2022 | Frank Bergman

A new plan is being reported that would allow Democrats to install California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) as president without an election.

The Hill published a possible plan that could propel Newsom directly to the presidency, without giving the American people a say in the matter.

The plan was outlined by former Pentagon and White House official Douglas MacKinnon.

MacKinnon, who worked under Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush in the eighties and early nineties, revealed that Newsom could pass by Vice President Kamala Harris.

However, the plan earned an enthusiastic thumbs down from FiveThirtyEight statistician Nate Silver.

“The competition is fierce but this is a top 5 worst political take of all time,” Silver said.

The plan MacKinnon described was simple and would start with Democrat President Joe Biden replacing Harris with Newsom as VP.

Biden could then resign, leaving Newsom seated comfortably in the Oval Office.

The simple move would see Newsom installed in the White House, without an election and the wear and tear from an actual campaign.

Despite the plan being simple, MacKinnon noted, the situation was quite complicated.

First, he notes that the expected “Red Wave” failed to materialize as a result of Tuesday’s midterms elections.

MacKinnon argues that the results were down to either “Trump fatigue” or plain vanilla hatred of the 45th president.

However, he said that, what could have been channeled into massive gains for the Democrats, was tempered by the fact that voters just don’t like Biden (or Harris) much either.

“As long as [Trump] is still considered a potentially viable candidate for 2024, or a political force by the Left, that fatigue and hate will be enough to drive many Americans to the polls to vote against any Republican,” MacKinnon continued, positing that Biden was only as strong as his potential Republican opponent was weak.

But he said that he didn’t believe Trump is likely to run which, according to MacKinnon, means Democrats would have to be prepared to face a “stronger” ticket.

Although he did expect a fair amount of protracted drama surrounding his potential “announcement” scheduled for November 15.

The ticket MacKinnon believes is likely — and strong — includes Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and possibly former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

“What Tuesday’s voting demonstrated is that our country is still equally divided and deeply polarized, with no political healing on the horizon,” MacKinnon wrote.

“That reality speaks to the need for a proven vote-getter with lots of money and a logistical machine behind him.

“In Politics 101, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) meets — maybe even exceeds — those qualifications.”

MacKinnon offered two possible routes that Newsom could take to the White House, and neither required him to win a Democratic primary or a general election without the power of White House experience behind him.

Not only that, but he argued it would be “political malpractice” for the Democrats to not at least consider this option.

“In one scenario, Biden could ask Harris to resign and replace her with Newsom, who then becomes the heir apparent for 2024,” he said.

“Or Biden could replace Harris with Newsom and then resign himself, making Newsom the president before 2024 and arming him with the full force of the Oval Office.”

They don’t really have to do this - Newsom is already the runaway electoral math favorite to win the White House in 2024. Such dealings would just tarnish his image. Better that they just let a puppet Kamala play Queen for a short time and then have her state she is not running in 2024 for personal reasons. As the “First Female President” she can give cackling commencement speeches, sell tens of millions of books, and shove Hillary permanently off stage without doing any further damage to The Agenda.

Despite the plan being simple, MacKinnon noted, the situation was quite complicated.

"Complicated" is right. Did the details of the article about this idiotic idea include these?

1. Biden can't "replace" a sitting VP. The vice president is an elected official, not a cabinet member.

2. If a VP vacancy occurs, the replacement would have to be approved in a vote in both houses of Congress, which leads to these two added complications ...

3. If the vacancy occurs before January, a Democrat would likely be approved in the House. If it occurs after the new session of Congress, the GOP may control the House.

4. If the vacancy occurs before January, the Senate would be deadlocked at 50-50 because there would be no sitting VP to cast a tiebreaking vote.

This is the kind of idiocy I'd expect to see from "a former Pentagon and White House official Douglas MacKinnon" who worked for two presidents who have been dead for years.

“exactly how does Biden “replace” Harris with anybody without the next election?”

Same way Nixon replaced Agnew...

Force her resignation?
“Fatal accident”?
Arkancide?

Evil people can find a way....

I think it’s more likely that Harris outlasts Biden simply by giving him an STD.

ZERO chance of Harris being pushed aside.

That would be racist.

I’d put some money on that.

I agree. They could/will give Biden “an offer he can’t refuse”.

LOL!!! Can you imagine the reaction among Democrats if Biden—after promising during his campaign to choose a “woman of color” as his running mate—engineers her replacement with a white guy mid-term?

Plus, this “plan” would require the cooperating of Harris, which I doubt would be forthcoming.

Not a prediction, but a point to ponder: Vice President Barrack Obama (This could only happen after Jan. 20th). Then Newsome becomes VP and the nominee in ‘24

“In one scenario, Biden could ask Harris to resign and replace her with Newsom, who then becomes the heir apparent for 2024,” he said.

Or they 25th amendment biden and Harris is instructed to appoint Newsome as her VP pick, then harris is dealt with either by an accident or assassination, or the natural citizenship issue, and voila‘ President Newsome.

Then the real insurrection and coup of the USSA is complete.

My theory was (and still is) that they would force Kamala out on the grounds of just plain idiocy, and appoint HilLIARy.

This would have to be approved by congress but there are plenty of RINO's that will approve it- just like they approve democrat appointed judges.

THEN Biden takes a trip to Ft. Marcy...

This is the ONLY way HilLIARy makes it to be the first woman pres., which she so desperately wants, because voters hate her.

Just picture her - she probably spends every single day plotting. And those 900 FBI files must be still paying dividends, because most of those same people are still in Washington.

Bypass the woman of color (who is constitutionally designated as the 2nd in line) and install the white male??

That’ll go over well with intersectional left.

The party got multiple bimbos to accuse cuomo of harassment, for actions that are nowhere near as bad as what clinton did. He was told to resign and the party installed a cold, radical leftist in his place.

They won’t have any problem concocting a reason to kick biden out of office and to replace him with the one they really want. newsome would do far more damage to this country than harris. I think they’ll just wait until 2024 and tell harris to go fly a kite, and nominate newsome with kathy hohcul of New York as VP - who’s many times worse than newsome.
