Trump And Pence Still At (Polite) War – For Now?: As President Joe Biden approaches the end of his second year in the White House, Republican contenders are preparing their presidential campaigns behind the scenes. Even with the prospect of a third Donald Trump campaign lingering, the Republican Party expects a large slate of candidates vying to go up against Joe Biden in 2024 (or potentially another Democratic pick, if the party’s voters get what they want).
Among those candidates is former Vice President Mike Pence, who is expected to make an announcement about his plans next year. We don’t know what he plans to do, but we do know that if former President Trump announces a 2024 campaign, Pence won’t be on the ticket with him.

How nasty would it get? I imagine Trump would be pretty bad with Pence. But it wouldn’t make any difference because there is no way Pence could win.

It won’t get “nasty” at all since Pence will be at about 1%. You don’t waste time on 1$.
As nasty as it is now. The Never-Trumpers would continue to be envious and spiteful as they are not taken seriously by anybody on the side of cleaning up the corruption in government.
It will be ugly, no matter who the Deep State runs against Trump. 8 years after Trump entered politics, he now knows how to focus the power of the presidency and expose the swamp to the people. He will be fought with EVERY means at their disposal.
It might be nasty, but it will be VERY short. Pence would be lucky to get 10%, as he not only has severe loyalty issues, but has all of the charisma of a car rusting out in someone’s overgrown front yard.
Pence is a lightweight who has been riding Trump’s coattails.
