Ari Fleischer is wrong.
In promoting his new book Suppression, Deception, Snobbery, and Bias: Why the Press Gets So Much Wrong — And Just Doesn’t Care, the former White House Press Secretary writes the following: “The press is not the enemy of the people, but they are their own worst enemy. And they’ve done this to themselves.”
Sorry, Ari.
The media are, in fact, your enemy. And mine. And ours.
...
As I will argue in a forthcoming book, the American media is now the equivalent of the Stasi, the diabolical East German secret police who acted like a violent criminal gang under communism. The Stasi engaged in violence, threats, and lies to make people turn on friends and family members, all in the service of creating some absurd socialist utopia.
The American press today is no different.
...
Remember when the press told you the Steele dossier might be true? Or that President Trump removed blue mailboxes from street corners so he could steal the 2020 election? Or that Russia paid bounties to kill U.S. troops in Afghanistan? Or that COVID could not possibly have originated in a Chinese lab? Or that Melania Trump turned the Rose Garden into a neofascist parade ground? Or that Nicholas Sandmann was a thug and Kyle Rittenhouse a white supremacist? Each of these is wrong. Each was reported by the mainstream media.
If I were Kyle Rittenhouse or Nicholas Sandmann, I would very much consider the media my enemy.

Doubly true for men.
“What a maroon”

Fleischer is a Bush bumpkin. The media is public enemy number one.
Ari is dead wrong, the Ministry of Propaganda is our worst enemy.
I have considered the media our enemy for twenty years and they have only gotten worse in that time.
Fleischer is an idiot. I KNOW WHO MY ENEMIES ARE.
More precisely, leftist, democrat party media is the enemy.
“The press is not the enemy of the people”
*************
Lying, distorting facts, ignoring arguments from the other side, and engaging in lopsided attacks against people with opposing views isn’t being an enemy of the people?
Ari is just a DC Swamp creature who puts preservation of access to his social circles in DC above principles.
“The media is public enemy number one.”
Damn straight !
> Fleischer is a Bush bumpkin. <
Bingo! The best you can say about George W. Bush is that he’s an idiot. And the best you can say about folks associated with George W. Bush is that they are idiots.
So the best that we can say about Fleischer is that he is an idiot. But that’s actually not so bad. Folks like Cheney and Rumsfeld were much worse.
He is very much wrong or lying to keep getting invited to the parties.
Tucker Carlson understands this, because he is part of this ‘elite journalism’ world, and eschews it. He talks with derision about the ‘intelligence’ of reporters and their sense of self-importance, because he understands how ubiquitous, ridiculous, and destructive this mind-set is.
There would be no media if people just experienced things directly, without all the commentary.
The fourth estate has become the fifth column.
What is it with these people?
“ What is it with these people?”
Two things:
1. They think we are stupid.
2. They hate us.
Deal with it.
L
This is the origin of the very idea that "they" are superior to "us" and that we are in dire need of their leadership. They are not so much the self-styled Guardians Of Democracy as self-absorbed foot soldiers in the slog to drag their culture and their country down to something suitably malleable in pursuit of an impossible fantasy. And infuriated when their clay refuses to be molded. And searching for reasons why deeper than the salient facts that they are unworthy of the power they've grabbed and the people they're trying to mold.

The media is the biggest enemy of America. It outranks Soros, Al Qaeda and China.
