British Prime Minister Wants to Recreate The Roman Empire
Israel 365 News ^ | 7/4/22 | Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz

Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party, has always been controversial but he raised the volume last week when he suggested that the best way to unite Europe was by recreating the Roman Empire.

His vision of the Roman Empire in the 21st century is based on a partnership that included Turkey and the North African states. At the NATO summit in Madrid last month, he told replrters that this would be based on the Mare Nostrum, the Latin term for the Mediterranean Sea.

It is interesting to note that 19th-century Italian nationalist fascists used the term to describe Italy as the successor state to the Roman Empire. The term was again taken up by Benito Mussolini for use in fascist propaganda, in a similar manner to Adolf Hitler’s lebensraum system of colonialism.

Johnson’s plan was in contrast to the ‘European Political Community’ presented by France’s President Emmanuel Macron to the European Parliament on May 9. This community would allow the EU to force closer ties with non-members, such as the UK and the nations of the western Balkans.

And, like the Roman Empire itself, the entire system will collapse in upon itself - leading to another Dark Ages that will take centuries to recover from.

But then maybe that’s the whole idea.

Same thing from another source:

https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/boris-johnson-roman-empire-alliance-nato-charm-offensive-ukraine-1712944
Western countries are preparing to launch a diplomatic charm offensive to win over developing nations to Ukraine’s side ahead of the G20 summit later this year.

European powers also hope to build closer links with the Middle East and North Africa through what Boris Johnson has described as a partial recreation of the Roman Empire.

There have been fears that the G20 gathering in Bali this autumn could be derailed if Vladimir Putin decides to attend, forcing Western leaders to decide between boycotting the summit and sitting round the table with the Russian President.

Perhaps someone should remind Boris Johnson that the original Roman Empire fell to violent barbarian hordes, and so the Dark Ages began.

I dunno. Maybe Boris wants a repeat. After all, the Dark Ages were environmentally friendly. No nasty gasoline engines, or anything like that.

Well, the second Roman Emperor was the monster Tiberius, the third Caligula, and the fifth Nero.

Such depravity is ubiquitous in today's world:

the obscene show-trial going on,
open borders,
human excrement and drug paraphernalia littering city streets,
rampant crime,
inflation,
stolen elections,
the Trannie Army,
political prisoners,
contempt for truth,
etc.--

So far, our society has matched the depravity of decadent Rome with no end in sight to the inexorable descent into the quagmire of depravity!

Who can save us? Only we ourselves!

Both Johnson and Macron need to be booted.

All of Europe nneds more free cooperation and less coerced and mandated “coordination”. The more Europeans lose the freedom to peacefully disagree, you know the ability to mandate and require agreement will increase.

the second Roman Emperor was the monster Tiberius

Perhaps you're confusing Tiberius with another emperor? Tiberius was quiet, low-key, conservative, and disliked drama. Most historians think the empire functioned quite well and was stable under him. When Tiberius died, Rome's treasury had a huge surplus, which, of course, Caligula blew through it all.

Boris Johnson is an expert extraordinaire on the Greco-Roman era. Most US politicians know less about this subject than Boris’ shoelaces.

Perhaps someone should remind Boris Johnson that the original Roman Empire fell to violent barbarian hordes...

According to the article that's pretty much what he said:

“When the Roman empire fell, it was largely as a result of uncontrolled immigration,” Johnson said in an interview at the G-20 in Italy. “The empire could no longer control its borders, people came in from the east, all over the place, and we went into a dark ages, Europe went into a dark ages that lasted a very long time. The point of that is to say it can happen again. People should not be so conceited as to imagine that history is a one-way ratchet.”
