Here is a good video from the Epoch Times that shows how Antifa supporters were there first in order to manipulate the Trump rally crowd that day.
Epoch Times did another video interview with war correspondent Michael Yon, describing "Agent Provocateur" tactics. In my opinion, it's not as good as the first one, as Yon's delivery style is a bit repetitious, but it is informative.

I’m saying that Trump made many mistakes by shooting from the hip and not recognizing how the media would pounce and plan misdirections for every misstep.
Unfortunately, Trump never seemed to learn this, and the J6 hearings are the ultimate democrat misdirection.

Trump asked the protesters to protest "peacefully and patriotically". That "storming the Bastille" nonsense was completely uncalled for, and we should have known better than to just walk into the Capitol after all of the other times the leftists instigated violence and then let the MSM blame the right for it.
If we had listened to Trump, the only people who would have stormed the Capital would have been the leftists trying to goad us into it. The leftists would have been in the position of either having to arrest their own or explain why no charges were filed.
But we stormed in, and the left got their Reichstag attack.
Having said that, yes, he should have shown more tact when he was president.
