lets see...we watch two men pummel each other in a ring....we watch women box...we have guys tying up the balls of a bull then riding them....we send hounds out chasing animals ..

lets not even get into what humans do to children...

I'd say we're not a perfect society....

I don't condone this activity at all....but when people are dying and getting injured I'd say we can afford a little bit of grace....

There’s a tradition in Italy where a guy hangs his hunting dogs - sometimes the death takes days - after the hunting season is over.

Hunting dogs are expensive and need plenty of training to be any good. In fact it's first season is generally more play training then the dog being any help.

So this makes no sense.

“Let’s see” Then you list some weird stuff that “we” do. I do none of that, do you?

Happy to hear your societal philosophy though the notion we aren’t perfect is fairly widespread, universal even. I agree.

I pointed out there are many activities available that don’t require animal cruelty. You say stuff.

I’m not a witness to it, but again - look it up and feel free to correct me if I’m wrong. There is a statue of a guy hanging his dogs. They were like greyhounds.

Another person who posted here said this happened in Spain. It wasn’t April 1st when I read that.

I remember seeing a short documentary of Italians’ callous behavior toward pet dogs so that’s my experience that made it not too hard to believe.

Thanks for that correction. Yeah, I mean - can’t you keep some bones or whatever aside for hard times rather than kill your dogs? But then there’s the idea that you have to let them breed, too. Life has always been hard for dogs, but in the end they remain our best friends. Kinda surprising.
