I find it an amusing coincidence that, on the day students in AP U.S. Government and Politics across the country took their end-of-year exam, arguably the biggest scandal in Supreme Court history broke.
That scandal, the leaking of what appears to be an authentic initial draft opinion on the controversial Dobbs case, has left many in the legal community aghast. Left and right, many agree that this is highly irregular and highly improper. There’s a reason it hasn’t happened before.

It’s impossible to overstate the earthquake this will cause inside the Court, in terms of the destruction of trust among the Justices and staff. This leak is the gravest, most unforgivable sin.
Whether or not a person supports Roe v. Wade or wishes it to end, we should all be terrified at the prospect of even the Supreme Court succumbing to the most primal of partisan bickering. The leaking of the draft opinion, which is in no way the final decision of the Court but a good indicator of where it’s headed, marks the end of cordiality between judicial philosophies as exemplified by the friendship between Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Antonin Scalia.

Who was it leaked to first? That is where to start.

Apparently it was leaked to Politico.
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t see viewing a draft opinion as the “destruction” of the Supreme Court.
If they want to create “legislation” and have us on the edge of our seats every June, then let’s see the drafts and changes along the way, like how we can see legislation being put together, in public, either in legislative committee or on the legislative floor.
As there are back office deals in the legislature, there are back office deals in the judiciary.
For the first time, we’re going to be able to compare a final opinion with a first draft, and see the changes. And that may not be such a bad thing - since these people work for us after all.

The problem for the Judicial Branch is that they want to maintain - however impossible it is now to do so - the illusion that they don’t create policy/make new laws. The problem is that they more than obviously do and have done so for quite some time. For a long time Americans didn’t really know what to make of an activist court system, perhaps beleiving that it would restrain itself in time from the worst abuses. That has obviously not happened. The jucicial branch is effectively a para-legislative branch as evidenced by how vicious the fighting is over Court justices.

Nobody inside of the court who supports overturning Roe v. Wade would have leaked this draft opinion.
Only a rabid liberal who has been brainwashed into believing that a "woman's right to choose" is as sacred as life itself (irony intended) would leak this draft opinion now, while the Democrats still control the House and Senate and can conceivably pass a federal law protecting abortion, pass a law to pack the court with six more liberal Justices, or both, before they lose one or both houses in the midterms.
It will have been the TRUMP appointees who overturned Roe v. Wade, which the RINOs have been running on doing for going on 50 years.
So what do all the vermin never-Trumpers at National Review think of this?

This shatters the myth that humans could ever create an organization that was apolitical, as the Supreme court was sold to be.
As a wise man once said “politics trumps everything” because at its core politics is about self interest - at a large scale.
In any case, this highly public revelation will change the court in a dramatic way. The media and some of the public will find this is license to openly antagonize the justices much more than they already do.
Dems don’t give a rip about right or wrong, only winning.
Their immediate threats of violence simply shows they are not worthy to be associated with the rest of us.
Ship them to Cali and Connecticut and give them a small section of NY around Gotham.
