With US markets still in turmoil during Monday’s thin-liquidity sessions, more troubling COVID headlines added to the general downcast mood when NYC raised its alert level from “low” to “medium”.
The shift comes as the number of new cases per 100K people over the past week has surpassed 200. The latest number of 209.02 cases per 100,000 is the highest since early February.
Patients hospitalized with the virus also have increased over the last month, but still remain below 500. During the omicron-induced surge around the holidays, hospitalizations in the city peaked above 6,500 in January, per NY State data.
Although masks aren’t required, the new alert level suggests that New Yorkers should wear a face mask in indoor settings while in public.
Among the five boroughs, Manhattan has the highest transmission levels, although it has seen numbers trend lower since mid-April, according to data from the city. All other boroughs have seen levels rise over the last couple weeks, prompting the change in the city’s alert level.
Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine tweeted that the rising alert level reflects the growing proliferation of COVID sub-variants in the city.

But covid can also destroy vital organs in a small percentage of people in good shape. My family has a friend, 25 years old, a mountain hiker, got hit with covid and now has a damaged heart. Her biggest regret is avoiding the jabs. People with jabs have experienced less severe problems after covid infection.

In our area, you can’t get tested unless you go pay for it yourself or are getting a medical procedure.
What will happen when they start testing again? I think we’ll see what the Disinformation Board will be about in less than 90 days.
Also in our area, the ICUs are almost full statewide...but not with covid cases. Wait’ll they’re branded ‘presumed positive’ once again...

My wife got COVID with me - she had a much harder time recovering than me (unvaxed) and I have heard of many many other people who had the same issue.
False. Cite your studies and prove the claim beyond a reasonable doubt . People that young have had FEWER problems from covid than from the jab. This is well-known by anyone with the slightest knowledge of the stats involved. For all we know her strenuous exercise combined with the covid caused the heart damage. A lot of marathoners and other endurance athletes have cardiac damage like thickening of the heart muscle. Bad luck nothing more - her regrets over the jab are misplaced. Would she have avoided heart damage? Can this be proven? Or would her heart damage have been worse from the jab? Who can say.
I have already presented ACTUAL EVIDENCE FROM AMERICAN hospitals numerous times, where 6 to 7 times as many people in ICU from covid were un-vaxxed.
There is a reason why 255 million Americans chose to get jabbed. They have seen people known to them get sick with covid.
But keep living in your paranoia about the nothing burger vaccines. Thankfully you belong to an irrelevant minority group.
