Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The all-new series will feature fan favorites from season two of Star Trek: Discovery, Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.

I heard from a co-worker that the new season of Star Trek:Picard was good. So I tried it and immediately stumbled into some ridiculous melodrama about noble illegal aliens in LA in 2024, their dreams under threat by the sinister forces of US immigration, all seen through the perspective of a tut-tutting Starfleet officer from the future. No thanks - Star Trek is woke garbage in its purest form.

Yea, I’m not into that show. They’re going back to the basics with this new show. It’ll be episodic like the original from the 60s and not the soap opera arc Picard and Discovery is.

i dont know man... the last three did a great job matching characters. to me this looked pretty lame.
Strange New Worlds will STD (Star Trek Discovery) 2.0, and NOT a faithful modern day rendition of Gene Roddenberry's vision for Captain Pike. They'll probably "reveal" Pike is openly bisexual a few episodes in, there is no way they will have a straight white male captain in this environment (not woke enough for them). Don't say you weren't warned. Notice the bridge looks like a pinball game, and NOTHING like the Captain Pike bridge from the real Star Trek:

To me, tl:dr
Captain pike, fem 2ic, horny spock and lots of nekkid scenes.
Looks like modern garbage. Costumes look good. Pike visually has the captain look, and the enterprise is okay.
Definitely not watching.
The trailer had 3 scenes of the actors either kissing or in bed. I hope it isn’t like Star Trek Enterprise where the actors always had their clothes off or in their underwear and rubbing some oil / disinfectant on each other!
The music has to much bang boom boom noise.
Action too frantic.
