Rep. Morgan Griffith tells Fox News Digital that 'inflation works against the party in control of Washington'
President Biden and congressional Democrats who have championed green energy policies while calling to shift away from domestic oil drilling are facing an uphill battle ahead of the midterm elections, as gas prices continue to climb from near-record highs following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
During his State of the Union address last week, Biden announced that the U.S. is releasing 30 million barrels from its Strategic Petroleum Reserve to protect consumers from the rising prices during the Russia-Ukraine war, but prices have kept rising. The national average has crested over $4 and set an all-time record on Monday.
Republicans argue that Biden has given Putin leverage by continuing Russian oil purchases while canceling the Keystone XL pipeline and freezing new oil and gas leases on federal lands. They accuse him of funding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine by refusing to sanction Russia’s oil and gas sector.

“At least we are not democRATs” isn’t good enough for me. The GOP is not any better.
Democrats own the gas prices. And Republicans should be reminding voters of that constantly during the election.
However, every ballot is sacred.
Every voter, not so much. Just count all those ballots at 3am.
Neocons are crawling out of the shadows because of Ukraine invasion. That’s not going to help Republican chances , though I think it will still be a tidal wave election.
Don’t believe it.
Judges can order drop boxes. Dominion vote counting. Vote by mail.
We saw it all and nobody stopped it in 2020.
But they will now?
It’s an uphill battle to keep Brandon standing up. So far they’ve been successful, LOL.
“Republicans say.”
And there’s your problem. It’s come to the point where when I see a politician on TV, regardless of party, I change the channel. I know all but a precious few politicians are lying scumbags. Their patter goes along the lines of: The other party is really, really bad, my party, including me, will save you!
No, none of them will save us, most of them don’t even like us. I hate that it has come to this, but I’ve seen too much for too long to believe a damn one of them.
So this might be a dumb question but I’m gonna ask it anyway.......should the Repubs take back the house and or senate will that affect gas prices at all?
My initial thought is not.
Even all the conservative news sources are repeating the mantra “oil price spikes caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.” I’m pretty sure they think they have cover for this, how many will remember the oil price spikes before this war?
never underestimate the republican’s ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory...
If the D’s take back the House and Senate can they vote into law the establishment of the Key stone Pipeline overriding the EO by Biden.
Americans need to make the bastards running this chicken coop pay in November. Run the commie bastards off.
They would need an overwhelming win in the Senate to overcome Biden’s veto power.
To arms Surrender Monkey Caucus! Someone is saying the Republicans will win big and of course YOU that can’t possibly be!
Start clutching your pearls gang because with gas prices skyrocketing finding a way to argue a Republican win will get harder.
Oddly, enough, I think it is easier to steal a Presidential election than a mid-term.
One thing about these commie bastards, if they aren’t blaming President Trump for everything, they are blaming their boy, Pooty Pooh.
Make that R’s take back House and Senate. Damn auto correct.
Ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha Ha ha ha ha ha
They stole a Presidential election and a Senate Run-Off
Not one state has banned Mail In Voting or Drop Boxes.
And there’s already another variant brewing up.
One more thing, House districts have been gerrymandered to give the Democrats an edge in some states.
Don’t hold your breath.
Democrats still have their Super Cheat in place
