They can unfreeze them just easily as they froze them. All it takes is a few computer keystrokes. They undo what they did to freeze them.

With interest rates so low, why would anyone keep any money in a bank beyond a checking account for expenses?

Folks in Canada have realized if the dictator could cause the freezing of bank accounts of the protestors and people who donated to them, he could freeze anyone's account.

That is not something one wants to chance, even if they don't like the protests.

The good news is, this will help to keep cash being a usable currency and set back electronic banking and transfer of money.

Why would anybody put their money into a bank that can just freeze, grab, delete all of their money at any moment?

There are so many banks. It is not hard to find one that will not do this.

They can't undo the financial damage they caused. They can't restore trust in their banking institution or the government.

Once burned, twice shy.

STOP THE FLOW. No deliveries to cities at all. Let them fly in their sustenance...... and then explain to the urbanites why the prices jumped 300%

Capitalism wins versus in the your face Facism banking in Canaduh!

RBC bank claims to be a U.S. bank specifically designed for Canadians to conduct cross-border transactions ... if RBC bank is REALLY a U.S. bank, then they will not be subject to the whims of Canadian despots ...

https://www.rbcbank.com/cross-border/us-bank-accounts.html

Why would any sane Canadians, bank at a bank controlled by Trueduh Fidel?

Do you suppose a run on the banks had anything to do with it.

Truckers should boycott Providences that have a vaccine mandate -AND- boycott Ottawa until new elections are held.

Maybe it caused a run on the banks with people who had donated to the truckers trying to get their money out before it was frozen

Four major Canadian banks went off-line (hacking or overload?). Also, indication that the number of withdrawals increased. So, maybe signs of a bank-run.

https://citizenfreepress.com/column-1/canadas-largest-banks-are-all-offline/

https://medium.com/@trevorstark02/5-major-canadian-banks-go-offline-for-hours-whats-happening-e11205064abf

etc.

But nothing in the major business papers. However, given the fact that the Canadian authorities backtracked the funds freezing after only a few days the conclusion seems obvious!

How does this stop the banking crisis? If my funds were frozen and then unfrozen, does anybody think I’d leave my funds in the bank?

the majority of funds/accounts are not frozen and yes these idiots think people will leave their money in the bank now...unintended consequences from a knee jerk punishment..roflmao.

This one act will leave a permanent scar on Canadian banks. Who the heck would do business with them after discovering that their accounts can be frozen on a whim.
