I’ll bet there would be more dead burglers/robbers. And you can get pretty well fireproofed safes.

I’m with you, though. However, even if you DON’T do it, if a lot of people do, you’d still be more likely to be robbed.

I would only worry about my funds in the bank if I was going to participate in something that might put it at risk regarding the government. That’s why I don’t do long road trips with a lot of cash. I just deposit locally and pull the money out at my destination. Civil asset forfeiture makes the cops the modern highwaymen.

My god, waking up to that thing would make me sterile.

Yes, the drug of power. But Castreau has no idea how to use real power, so he postures and does stupid things that make him look even more ridiculous.

Who else besides truckers buy trucks?
I had read somewhere that all told, there
we’re 50,000 trucks across Canada that
are participating in the protest.
The average cost of a used semi tractor
is around $100,000.00 USD.
$100,000.00 X 50,000 = $5,000,000,000.
(just estimates)
Banks carry the loans on these trucks.
No trucker is going to buy a confiscated
truck due to the principles involved.
Canada’s economy would take a huge hit
as all fuel, tires, maintenance, road
use taxes, tolls, permits, and anything
else tied to the trucking industry, monies
would cease, not to mention your average
Canadian citizen who also is in debt for
auto loans, insurance, mortgages, etc.
Trudeau not only froze protestors’
accounts, he also stopped the inflow
of cash to the banks.

It was an incredibly stupid idea from the outset. Freezing a customers bank balance affects the customer. Freezing that customer's ability to pay off mortgage, car, or business loans affects the banks.

Some good does come out of this: it's a dire warning that individuals had better have enough cash on hand physically to tide them over through dislocations such as this, however brief or limited in scope, whether government mandated or not. That doesn't mean enough to make the house or car payments, it means enough to buy food on the black market, the creation of which is the other inevitable consequence of torpedoing the banking system for petty political revenge.

I had that fight in the 90s with NYNEX.
Wanted, and got, my paycheck in my hand as well as providing me somewhere to cash it.
Found out that state labor and banking laws held the upper hand on that at that time.
The company *assumed* that direct deposit was a *favor* it was doing for its employees and could therefore be made mandatory.
Also found out that the law called for workers to be paid in CASH! The company’s ability to pay by check was not sacrosanct but actually a convenience that was GRANTED to it by the state after meeting certain criteria. Quoting the law governing THAT went a long way toward winning for me.

Wow, glad I grabbed my cash out yesterday.

Hoping the Credit Union funds are still intact, they seemed to believe that they would remain untouched.

Maybe I should give them call.... better read the article first.

Thanks for posting.

It's where most of your firearms should be right now.

What are these "firearms" you speak of? I've never heard of anything called "firearms" ...

"What are these "firearms" you speak of?"

It's a Native American phrase - "arms of fire" - meaning arm wrestling champion.

You knew that, right?

Nope. I’m aware of a country music song named “arms of fire” though.
