The Washington Post reported that the unusual raids took place last June, in which seven soldiers were killed - including a colonel.

Israel feared the Assad regime is trying to reproduce deadly nerve gases, years after it was forced to give up most of its chemical weapons stockpiles under US pressure. "This is a strategic weapon for the regime."

Israel attacked chemical weapons production facilities in Syria last June, in unusual raids deep in the country, the Washington Post reported today (Monday).

Fighter jets reportedly fired missiles at three military targets near Damascus and Homs, killing seven soldiers, including an officer with the rank of colonel described in the regime's official media as a "hero" and an engineer who passed through a top-secret Syrian army laboratory.

ya gotta clip these places ASAP or run the risk of hitting mid production and killing the neighborhood and all the bad press that would entail, or worse, be accused of using them

Ignore the pest. He craves attention. Don’t indulge him.

Your news organization has as much right to require excerpted content as any other on the very long FR “copyright” list.

Israel likes to attack Syria because they know they can get away with it with no fear of retaliation. They usually attack from Lebanese airspace, no fear of retaliation there either.

They have treated ISIS wounded in their hospitals, have set up oil exploration in Syria with their cronies in US’ Genie Energy.

I realize there are many on FR who support Zionism, and applaud Israel’s attacks on their neighbors, but the Israeli Government is about as truthful as the US Government, so I don’t take their reasons for the attacks as Gospel.

Wait, wait, wait. There are many, including many on this forum, who claim there are no WMDs in the Middle East except the ones that Israel has.

Assad regime is trying to reproduce deadly nerve gases, years after it was forced to give up most of its chemical weapons stockpiles under US pressure.

The real story here is they have no fear about doing this under a Biden presidency. They didn’t think about doing this under Trump.

Syria was in the USSR orbit and was a client state. They formed their military with Russian Advisors and their order of battle was based on the USSR battle plan which favored Biological Weapons as a necessary component of their blitzkrieg using mech infantry to support armor thrusts with heavy artillery.

Most of the Middle East was in the Soviet Orbit in 67 and 73. By 74-75-76 the US managed to bring Egypt into the Camp David Peace Accords and peace with Israel was signed.

While Syria still has Russian Military presence beyond an advisor’s role, Iran too is yet another Russian Proxy. By masquerading Iran as the Chief Terrorist Threat in Syria or working with Syrian-Iranian nexus, this is still under the direction of Russia.

The fact that Syria revived their Biological Weapons program - usually fertilizer or pharmaceutical factories, under Russia guidance it seems that Russia using Proxies in Iran for nuclear and Syria for Chemical/Biological warfare against Israel... and Saudi Arabia and others aligned with the US.

Israel has a stated doctrine that they have telegraphed to their enemies which will make the land uninhabitable by the use of their nuclear weapons deployed against enemies in a grid square type coverage that would radiate all places or a 100 percent coverage. The threat of use of nuclear response includes those who enable “proxies” or trade partners. For the US, France, Germany and Italy as nuclear trade partners/enablers we encumber a risk of retaliation on our soil or for European partners possible attacks against their countries as well. For Russia key cities could be hit. All those who think Israel is going to be wiped out fail to realize that Israel has between 600-800 nuclear devices that they can deliver.

Israel has also promised to raise Beirut or burn down if they destroy or attack Israel proper.

Interesting times.
