I wonder if they have a 4 year death switch built in. Roy Beatty told me to ask.

Is she anatomically correct? Asking for myself.

Prove to me she’s not being moved by a puppeteer.

‘Anatomically correct’ in 2021 has little meaning, unfortunately.

To me it’s expressions are too exaggerated and that gives it away.

‘Less Botox’ in the face would be a good thing.
The robot’s face does not move in the cheekbone area. Only barely in the jawbone.
The robot ‘smiles’ by mouth only. It looks more like a sneer or mild grimmace. Contours of the face and underneath the eyes remain static.
The range of motion shown in the shoulder movement is smooth and impressive, although this is non weight bearing movement.

It is... Tons of wires attached to a computer run by a human.
When they walk down the street and can carry on a conversation without a 300lb battery pack I’ll be impressed.

Puppeteer or not the facial movements are extremely realistic and a clear advancement even from last year.
The control system will become more artificially intelligent, compact and cheaper as time goes on.

‘While some labeled Ameca “scary” and expressed that they were “worried”
why in blazes would anyone be scared or worried about this...?

There was a movie about this topic a few years ago (I forget the name at the moment) in which a young male employee of a Big Tech firm wins a company lottery for a weekend at the reclusive CEO's mountain chalet. It turns out he was actually pre-selected to be the guinea pig for the company's testing of a female robot intended to be indistinguishable from a human female.
Much of the movie centers on the issue of which of these women at the chalet are human and which are robots. Needless to say, things go wrong, but I'll leave it at that.

“why in blazes would anyone be scared or worried about this...?”
The time to worry will be when they start talking about giving it “rights”. If that happens, it will be the end of humanity.
