""""“This recent information is different from what we understood to be the government’s and the Navy’s intent,” the company said.""""

What a lame excuse for totally reversing their prior policy.

Shipbuilders who opted to submit for retirement or to resign as a result of the federal mandate have the option to request reversal of their decision. – For those who have started the retirement process, please contact the HII Benefits Center for more information. – For employees who notified management or Human Resources of plans to resign, please talk with your immediate supervisor if your plans change. Supervisors should contact their Human Resources business partner for guidance.

Employees forced to resign should tell the company to take a hike. The company has shown they don’t have your back. Now they’re desperate for skilled workers. Their eagerness to screw employees to show obedience to the government should have consequences.

I wonder how employees feel now that were pressured to get the vaccine and did?

How pathetic that a great country that ruled the seas and defeated two evil empires is self handicapped by a little Chinese virus. Hopefully this company keeps doing the right thing.

Probably being cautious so as not to stir up the marxists in D.C. I wonder ‘how many’ employees were going to be affected. It seems it’s been averaging about 30% at other companies.

Oh, well, we misunderstood the edict...

These company bosses are fully qualified to work in the kamala DOJ.

This will help with the OSHA case. Federal contracts that are not “new” do not have the vaccine mandate included. If the mandate is so DIRE that it must include all employees, as OSHA claims, then the federal government would take an emergency measure to make the current contract void and negotiate a new contract.

As it stands, keeping the construction on tract is more important than having all federal contractor’s employees fully vaccinated.

I really can’t blame the employer on this one.

I just started a new assignment under a Federal contract. There is no vaccine requirement for me because even though my assignment started a few weeks ago, the original contract for the project dates back two years.

The COVID vaccine requirement only applies to contracts signed after the mandate was put in place.

There were more than a few ignorant Freepers who insisted that I was wrong about the terms of my contract.

But how onerous will their new policy be? Masks all the time? Testing? If I’d put in for retirement, I wouldn’t be turning back.

What a pitiful lame excuse for firing people and turning their lives inside out.

I hope they are able to say shove it and lawyer up and win their wildest dreams.

This brand of stupid costs all of us though.

My manager said he was blown away that I would risk ending a 42-year career on principle.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but... This is what we now consider a "win?"

"Thank you, sir! May I have another kick in the rear? What? You're too tired? WIN!"

Regards,

As a federal subcontractor, I hope this means the federal employee mandate is on its last legs. It would save me the time of having to finish my religious exemption petition.

Isn’t that the lamest excuse ever? I wonder who in the company dreamed that up and who approved it.

It’s troubling that even a major defense contractor cannot tell the truth. They should have “explained”: “For our nation’s security, it is imperative that we keep building our contracted-for materiel. We cannot do that if we fire 40% of our team. Therefore, we are continuing employment of our people, vax or no vax. Let’s Go Brandon!”

These people are exclusive builders of aircraft carriers, Arleigh-Burke destroyers, and are only 1 of 2 places building attack subs.

Even the idiot ideologue left woke generals can see the problem in angering these people.

The pen is said to be mightier than the sword, but the middle finger is mightier than Biden’s pen.

We’ll probably test that sword theory next if he keeps using his dick-tator pen to push us/US around and make us do his will.
