Prop Gun Fired by Alec Baldwin Contained Live Bullet, Says IATSE Local 44

Unbelievable that they put live rounds into a prop gun on a set. Everyone involved needs to be held accountable for this incredible act. A full and unbiased investigation must be done. Was it really “accidental”, or worse?

Baldwin may not face criminal charges, but he’s going to take a huge financial hit. The movie will likely never be completed and he’s going to get sued. He’s one of the producers.

The Director that was shot wrote the script. Prop guns aren't the responsibility of the actor. I detest Baldwin but it looks like multiple people are at fault.

I believe you are right. I vaguely remember an Columbo episode plot just like that. He had to figure out who loaded or switched the blanks/gun.

The gun has to be loaded in order to film the scene, unless the effects of pulling the trigger are to be added digitally in post production. I’m thinking some procedures might change going forward.
