What is going on here?
I support the right of anyone to get vaccinated or not. I support free speech and free thought. However...
Though I was not looking, in less than one day I have seen THREE posts by non-noob Freepers who are fully supporting Orwellian Australian tactics, and/or gleefully wishing death on those Freepers who have chosen to wait on the vaccine or chosen therapeutics, etc.
If this was twitter, I would not be so distressed and surprised. But this is Free Republic where the main page Front center headline is:

Do these posts really represent Free republic? God, Family, Country?
Are there no lines that Freepers should not cross??
At the very least, these people should be called out.
Just wanted to get this posted before the new edicts creating a 2-tier citizenship system are announced by the regime.

There are plenty of single-minded knuckleheads around here.
There are some folks who are pro vax. There are more who are a-holes about not getting the shot. It’s not really worth discussing. No one’s mind is going to be changed here.
I think the change of seasons is affecting a lot of minds these days.

Some FR IDIOT told me I should call child protective services to have my daughter’s (nonexistent) children take from her because she took the vax in order to get into Hawaii where she and her husband of 30 years are going to celebrate their anniversary.

The last time I confronted one of them on it, they responded multiple times to my accusation, but NEVER denied my charge of them getting paid.

You’ve been here about as long as I have. Every so often there is always a contentious issue that divides people who normally agree on most everything else.
In some respects though people adapt to and reflect the culture of the times. The twitbook culture is now reflected across government and media. It saps and impurifies our precious bodily fluids.
Plus, some of us drink too much :-)

Whenever someone “confronts” me on FR, I lead them on. I count how many times I can get them to respond. I use typical agitation methods.
My record is 32 exchanges.
I don’t “confront” anyone like that. It’s not a good use of energy. And I wouldn’t want to make someone like me happy.

How does one go about getting paid to be an ‘influencer’?
Just about everyone and their grandmother goes out on the internet and gives their opinions. Why are some people so special so as to get paid for theirs?
FR has been infiltrated. One can read the stench immediately.
I don’t know who those freepers are, but I assume you are telling the truth. It is sad that some here think that way.
On the other hand, there are many posters here that are like something out of the old USENET alt.conspiracy newsgroup. They post things that are wrong, pointed out as wrong, and keep doing it.
I could cite some examples, but that will just piss off those that believe the wrong.
