Alan West, Republican for Governor in Texas, shared a video last night where he is enraged that his wife was arrested for what he believes were false charges.
Alan West shared a video from a Dallas police station last night where he claimed his wife was being housed after being arrested for driving while intoxicated. But West claims that observers did not see her drink alcohol and she did not fail an intoxication test when pulled over.

If anyone in the primary is responsible for this, they are screwed. The second-favorite pasttime in Texas is gossip.
Back in my stupid days, which was not but a couple decades ago, I was driving while intoxicated. I actually passed the dui tests but since I was speeding, 134 in a speed limit ends zone, I was hauled in. Judge noticed I’d never had a ticket and dropped the points but had to pay the fine. That was 1400.00 and then the cost of having my car towed of 500+ dollars. Learned my lesson. That stupid act was enough for me. Interesting thing was I, and obviously the cop. We’re the only ones on the road. Out in the West desert area of Utah you may think you’re the only one on the road but Johnny law is always learking about.

I know what you mean. I have a slight balance problem and could not walk a straight line if my life de[ended on it.
Everyone I convince to get their concealed carry permits, I also give them a small piece of advise:
“Building a bar in your home is cheaper than getting a DUI.”
When my wife was in college she got pulled for dui because she drifted over the line once.
All she’d had to drink was milk.
I got pulled over for a DWI, the cop made me walk a line and do the stuff they always do. After finally failing me, he finally allowed me to blow into the breathalyzer....I did it twice, a 0.0. He said, “that never happens” and let me go after the 20 minute roadside visit.
Then after lunch the defense showed the dash cam video of the sobriety test and rested.
It tool about 15 minutes for us to reach a verdict and dismiss the charges since it was obvious he was not impaired from the video.
I know cops and I’m a strong supporter, however, when I think back to my youth, they knew the good guys from the bad guys. Today that discernment is missing. I believe Allen West, and if anyone should be given a tip of the hat, it’s people like him and his family members. To see a decent person get the run around is disappointing. There are tons of bad guys out there. They need to solely focus on them while enjoying our support.
No one is required to perform a field sobriety test .A breathalyzer is a different story. The reason for the field sobriety test is if you fail, then they have grounds to ask for a breath or blood test. Even if you pass a breathalyzer or a blood test, if you fail the field sobriety test, you may still get convicted.

I know a guy that was going some bizarre speed and got pulled over. He let the cops take his car for a spin, and they let him go telling him the road was clear (of cops) for the next fifty miles.
He had to count his ABC’s backwards? Would that be 26, 25, 24, 23, 22....? 🙂
Not disagreeing with you… I grew up in North Philly when Rizzo was mayor, and they knew the thugs from the citizens.
Just pointing out - or maybe reinforcing your point - about the majority of them getting a bad name because if the assholes amongst their ranks.
Maybe neither of you should be driving.
I got pulled over once, after leaving OktoberFest. I was working a booth. Never had a drink in my life. Was driving safely and within speed limit...
If she hadn’t been drinking alcohol, then she should have blown a 0.00. Tell us the results of the breath test. Hearsay from unidentified witnesses won’t cut it.
Leaving a minor with police officers until a responsible adult can take custody is standard procedure during a roadside arrest.
