Please say a special prayer for my mother, who is going in for back/spinal surgery next Friday. This will be her third try at correcting the damage done after 40+ years of being a registered nurse, spending hours on her feet in patent leather nursing shoes, lifting and carrying patients when needed and essentially premanently injuring herself in the process. She is an 81-year-old cancer survivor who has had two previous surgeries, and can now barely walk without the constant assistance of my live-at-home sister. She has become dependent on Percocet to help relieve the pain. With God's help and blessing, she'll make it through this one last surgery and be able to complete physical therapy rehab, and no longer need to be in a mental fog and semi-stupor of painkillers so she can live out her last few years in dignity and with some semblence of self-mobility. God bless you all, and thank you for your prayers.

Prayers up for your Mom.
Her condition took a downturn last night - she was readmitted to the hospital. Her surgery has been moved up to Monday morning at 7:30 AM. It was going to be an emergency operation today due to the amount of pain she’s in, but she takes a blood thinner, so she’s currently been given more painkillers, a drug to counteract the anticoagulant, and plasma transfusions to expedite the process. Any and all prayers are deeply appreciated by our family.

Guide the doctor’s hands as they perform surgery on Viking2002’s mother tomorrow morning. Stabilize her blood and lift her pain.

James 5:16 The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. There are some wonderful, Godly people here on Free Republic. They are ALL with you in Christ. I pray the Holy Spirit comforts you and your Mom in your time of pain and sorrow. I myself have suffered with back pain all my adult life due to a football injury in High School. I recently got a hot tub/jacuzzi - it provides MERCIFUL relief for my back. If your Mother is able to get in and out of one I would give it my highest recommendation.
