This is sick.......
Who ever signed off on this better be prepared to be moved , hopefully several times
Even Germans with all their World War II shame don’t mess with graves.
Not the same comparison. They arent sorry and have no regrets. One of the top European country for anti-semitism. Never again my ass.
I found my first specimens of this, yesterday:
Exactly. They are mirroring Mao’s Cultural Revolution. Mao hated all things Chinese and destroyed China in his zeal. These people are his legacy and they aim to destroy all things culturally American.
Utterly depraved.
I’m sure Mayor Levar Stoney is working on a plan for that at some point in the future - got to get rid of the Robert E. Lee statue first.
Brings to mind the end result of the English Civil War. Oliver Cromwell succeeded in giving power to Parliament. Having Parliament behead Charles I, having won the Civil War against a tyrant king. Was Lord Protector refusing a crown- he died in 1658 of natural causes and buried in Westminster Abbey. Having defeated Charles II in 1651 in the Battle of Worcester- who was trying to regain the throne- Charles II (venereal diseased son of the beheaded Charles I) comes back to re-assert Rome’s authority over the forever changed Britain.
And how does Charles do this? He disinterred the bodies of Cromwell and other leaders of the Roundheads— and had them posthumously executed/beheaded-— to erase their memory! Did not work- and did not help the idiots in Parliament who OK’d all the lunacy of abuse of the dead.
The Lefist/Marxists of today exhibit the same lunacy— destroy history. Not going to let them. Excellent graphic on the destruction of the Old.
These weirdos sure can wrestle with the 156-year-old ghost of the Confederacy, can’t they? What’s their next project going to be, hitting the beaches at Normandy?
Bingo! We have a winner!
Exactly right.
We should demand it.
Haley didn’t start it…I believe it actually started with a small anti-Confederate flag victory by the left in Georgia. The anti-flag forces then began to attack throughout the South. She caved but only after holding out for a long time…until the Charleston shooting, which killed 9 decent, unarmed black churchgoers in their church in Charleston. The insane white shooter (who said that he was trying to start a race war) had a Confederate flag sticker on his vehicle. Suddenly there was no political support for the Confederate flag and she really didn’t have much choice.
There are other reasons I’d think twice about voting for her, but in context, the flag decision is more understandable.
What slavery? Is there any evidence of it? /s
The people doing stuff like this want to incite a cultural war or race war.
Yes. In the end, you can’t get a more loyal American and anti-rascist than Nathan Bedford Forest. History, or should I say those who don’t read or understand history, got this guy all wrong.
Actually ....yes she did!
I’m doing well. Thanks for asking. Hope all is well with you and yours too. It’s been many years, but I made a couple of trips to Hollywood Cemetery during my travels South. It was a well-tended cemetery, and one you could spend some time in.
Thanks! I vaguely remembered there was an historical event where the leaders were exhumed and beheaded, but I could not remember it.
BTW, I listened to an excellent podcast on the Interregnum (the ten years after Charles I was beheaded) on the BBC show "In Our Time."
The InterregnumMelvyn Bragg and guests discuss the period between the execution of Charles I in 1649 and the unexpected restoration of his son Charles II in 1660, known as The Interregnum. It was marked in England by an elusive pursuit of stability, with serious consequences in Scotland and notorious ones in Ireland. When Parliament executed Charles it had also killed Scotland and Ireland’s king, without their consent; Scotland immediately declared Charles II king of Britain, and Ireland too favoured Charles. In the interests of political and financial security, Parliament's forces, led by Oliver Cromwell, soon invaded Ireland and then turned to defeating Scotland. However, the improvised power structures in England did not last and Oliver Cromwell's death in 1658 was followed by the threat of anarchy. In England, Charles II had some success in overturning the changes of the 1650s but there were lasting consequences for Scotland and the notorious changes in Ireland were entrenched.
For posterity, there are many CSA generals buried there. Other famous people are entertainment, VA politicians and diplomats.
Isn’t Edgar Alan Poe buried there too.
Good to hear you are doing well.
