The Great Gun Sales Boom Of 2020-2021 Shows No End In Sight

It may be too soon to suggest that the novel coronavirus pandemic is truly over, but life is returning to normal. As mask mandates and social distancing requirements are being relaxed, sporting events are seeing bigger crowds, people are packing airplanes and people are (begrudgingly) returning to the office. However, the pandemic drove the sales – even hoarding – of some products and that isn’t likely to change just yet.

As for firearms, the pandemic certainly created a buying spree, yet the return to “normal” hasn’t resulted in a sales slowdown. If anything sales of firearms has remained steady.

Our Cabala store expanded their women’s clothing section and filled the ammo shelves with air.
I find it difficult to believe that large retailers cannot get ammo. I can get it on gunbroker and other online outlets in lots of 1,000 and 500 pretty easily. If some dude in Tennessee can locate 100,000 rounds of 5.56 or 7.62, that one of the largest retailers in the world can’t get it.

We were selling over 100 a day during the week and have fallen to 60~, still up from more sane times.

$7.97 to $375.00 is a 4605% increase.

That’s like buying an ounce of gold for $.41 and still having it when it’s $1,893/oz. Sheesh!

I was at a gun show an hour and a half ago. The going rate for 9mm was 80cents a round.

And the story in Lacy, WA was practically empty. My dad wanted some ammo cases and they had these things smaller than a shoe box for almost $20; he finally found some on Amazon twice the size (full size ammo cans) for $10.

My local store still has had plenty of 6MM and 6.5 MM Creedmoor ammo on the shelves for months.

Everything else is quickly sold out. Lucky I was in when they had a quick shipment come in. Bought one box. Didn’t need any more and let others have the rest.
After everyone stocked up and left I noticed the Creedmoor ammo was still on the shelves.

I saw a piece on History channel about Cris Craft boats and how they manufacture them, CC was using 9mm bulle projectiles for ballast in their boats, not sure what they’re doing today.

So, there are boats out there with 9mm bullets in them?

I think they got it wrong. The pandemic is not what is driving firearm and ammo sales. The main driving force is the nation wide riots and the government lack of response and actual support of them.

If the gun makers can keep up with the record demand why can’t the ammo makers?

That would be easy, there would be so few left and scattered, that they would already have a few plans in place for that.

Thankfully God is still in control, and it may not happen like that, but those who took the shots already are going to be in a for a wake up call I’m strongly thinking.

That’s a surprise. Up here it was the first to go. I think too many people watched me shoot my rifles and asked themselves why on earth they were still shooting 308s, and the rush was on. I might of done myself in except that I saw this coming many moons ago and have stuff heh.

People only buy a few guns. At some point most people are done buying, content with one or a few.
Ammo, being a consumable, is easy to buy lots of.

As black on black gun crimes and murders continue to rise increased gun sales should also be expected. I mean legal gun owners and law abiding NRA members still have to replace guns stolen in burglaries and car thefts.
The FBI and Department of Justice are always releasing statistics from their countless gun crime studies.
But they always fail to touch on the single most important Stat. The percentage of guns in black high crime areas also known as Democrat run areas. Places where 90% of 13 yr Olds have three things in common. A felony criminal record, no parental leadership, and a stolen gun in their waistband.
Just once I’d like to see the Department of Justice address this stat.

I’m not sure they are, but I know somebody who does. Lurkinanloomin, how is the supply? If I wanted, say, a Springfield XDm .40, could I walk into a store and buy one?
