Dr. Andrew Baker, the Hennepin County medical examiner, took the stand at the murder trial of former Officer Derek Chauvin for pressing his knee on or close to Floyd’s neck. Baker concluded last year that Floyd died from cardiopulmonary arrest — that is, his heart stopped.
The chief county medical examiner who ruled George Floyd’s death a homicide testified Friday that Floyd’s heart gave out due to heart disease, hypertension, drugs, and stress. He also said that the stress was caused by the way the police held him down.
When Baker was asked how police “subdual, restraint and neck compression” led to Floyd’s death, he said that Floyd had severe underlying heart disease and an enlarged heart that needed more oxygen than normal to function, as well as narrowing of two heart arteries.
Baker said being involved in a scuffle raises adrenaline, which asks the heart to beat even faster and supply more oxygen.
“And in my opinion, the law enforcement subdual, restraint and the neck compression was just more than Mr. Floyd could take by virtue of that, those heart conditions,” the medical examiner said.

He also stated that the knee of office Chauvin appeared to be on Floyd’s back and it did not look like knee occluded carotid artery. And if it did it would not matter, he had another one.

He also confirmed his drug overdose:
Chauvin attorney Eric Nelson has argued that the now-fired white officer did what he was trained to do and was not responsible for Floyd’s death. Floyd had high blood pressure and heart disease, and an autopsy found fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system.
If the cops had written him a ticket, he would likely still be alive, but if he wasn’t not many people would care.
It seems probable at this point that Floyd was probably not aware that the $20 was fake, and also likely that Chauvin knew and did not like Floyd.
the happy killer and the silent killer
Or any other urban area. It’s very likely to spread outside of the urban areas. Be paying attention.
Baker seemed like he was afraid to say it was Fentanyl.
George Floyd said he couldn't breathe when they first arrested him and he was being walked to the squad car. He said he couldn't breathe while he RESISTED ARREST, refusing to be placed in the backSEAT of the squad car, like a normal person. Three officers couldn't get him in the car, Floyd was that big and that strong.
Floyd then DEMANDED that he be placed on the ground. So they did. The state's own use of force expert said the amount of resistance Floyd offered would have justified the use of the taser, several times but Chauvin DEESCALATED the use of force by not using the taser.
TWO Prosecution witnesses said handcuffed prisoners can still be deadly and one of the PROSECUTION witnessess admitted under oath that he has had to physically maintain control of a suspect on the ground as they waited for EMS to arrive. How dangerous can handcuffed suspects/prisoners be? This dangerous...
Georgia sheriff's deputy fatally stabbed by handcuffed inmate; another wounded, authorities say
Well Chauvin had no way of knowing what Floyd had for medical conditions or what drugs he had in his system. The use-of-force guy when crossed by the defense, already said Chauvin could have used more force that he did. He could have tased him right off the bat or hog tied him. Both would have caused Floyd to die of the OD even faster.
EMS was delayed because they got lost and - wait for it - the agitated crowd was posed a potential hazard for responding EMS crews.
PROSECUTION witnesses testified that in their experience, suspects on drugs can pass out, come to and immediately become violent and very difficult to control which is why positive control of the suspect must be maintained until EMS arrives.
George Floyd was HIGH AS A KITE and sitting in the DRIVER’S seat of a running car on a PUBLIC street. I’m not sure where you live, but in every state I’ve ever lived in, that’s against the law.
There was no way George Floyd was not going to get arrested that day, $20 counterfeit bill or not.
Imagine if they write him a ticket - in his obvious state of intoxication - he leaves and kills someone.
And to think, the AG basically threw all of the county DAs off the case and brought in, what he thought were some heavy hitters who are apparently working for free, so they can fry Chauvin.
It’s looking more and more like Chauvin could walk. Sure hope they’re ready for it. Other cities as well. It’s gonna get ugly.
The riots, mayhem and murder are established givens. The bastards will carry out their Marxist orders no matter the fate of Chauvin.
He also stated that the knee of office Chauvin appeared to be on Floyd’s back and it did not look like knee occluded carotid artery. And if it did it would not matter, he had another one.
Hard to say it was neck compression when you admit that Chauvins knee was on his back.
His only hope is a Federal appeals court...and that, too,is a slim hope because judges don't like their houses to be firebombed.
how many times have u been cuffed up behind your back?
ME still confirmed on re-direct that Floyd died of the direct cause of police neck compression with contributing conditions which were not direct causes.
But not because “I can’t breathe” or it “ Cut off blood flow to the brain”
but because of the extra stress!!
which was the tipping point combined with the other factors
Only once. I’m a graduate of SERE school. I spent roughly 48-hours handcuffed and hooded.
LAMO!
Sorry but I’m not following the word for word testimony. Was cross exam you speak of by the Defense?
However I do apologize that I've not researched that.
