Dr. Andrew Baker, the Hennepin County medical examiner, took the stand at the murder trial of former Officer Derek Chauvin for pressing his knee on or close to Floyd’s neck. Baker concluded last year that Floyd died from cardiopulmonary arrest — that is, his heart stopped.
The chief county medical examiner who ruled George Floyd’s death a homicide testified Friday that Floyd’s heart gave out due to heart disease, hypertension, drugs, and stress. He also said that the stress was caused by the way the police held him down.
When Baker was asked how police “subdual, restraint and neck compression” led to Floyd’s death, he said that Floyd had severe underlying heart disease and an enlarged heart that needed more oxygen than normal to function, as well as narrowing of two heart arteries.
Baker said being involved in a scuffle raises adrenaline, which asks the heart to beat even faster and supply more oxygen.
“And in my opinion, the law enforcement subdual, restraint and the neck compression was just more than Mr. Floyd could take by virtue of that, those heart conditions,” the medical examiner said.

He also stated that the knee of office Chauvin appeared to be on Floyd’s back and it did not look like knee occluded carotid artery. And if it did it would not matter, he had another one.

He also confirmed his drug overdose:
Chauvin attorney Eric Nelson has argued that the now-fired white officer did what he was trained to do and was not responsible for Floyd’s death. Floyd had high blood pressure and heart disease, and an autopsy found fentanyl and methamphetamine in his system.
How dare the police stress him out. Couldn’t they have let him carry on with his day, all drugged up behind the wheel of a car?
Good for Minnesota! Think ‘stress’. Threw them a bone.
I propose the following new law that must be administered to any person stopped by the police.
Any person who is lawfully stopped by the police must fill out a medical questionnaire prior to the person being stopped can begin physical resistance of arrest. Based upon their known medical conditions the officers will then be limited to the amount and type of restraint that can be used.
Methamphetamine and hypertension are not a good combination.
what are police to do? Stop and ask the violently resisting perp “Gee, are you ok? Are you stressed about something?”
of course not- There was no time to assess the perp’s mental health as he was fighting with police inside the vehicle, putting himself and officers at risk of injury- there was only time to subdue a very large man resisting arrest, as carefully as possible given the circumstances and drugged out condition of the perp-
IF stress contributed to George’s death, then George brought it all on himself- He was clearly stressed even before he was put into the back of the car- from the very first he was stressed and complaining about not being able to breathe- George was in the process of dying when police rolled up on him outside the store-
[[“And in my opinion, the law enforcement subdual, restraint and the neck compression was just more than Mr. Floyd could take]]
You are a liar sir- there was no neck compression- the defence proved that yesterday- even liberal ‘news’ networks have backed off from making that false claim!
On re-direct the ME Baker emphasized that Cause of Death was: Law Enforcement.... neck compression, Contributing causes as drugs and high blood pressure, heart disease.
If the jury is torn they may hang heir decision on this man’s testimony.
Defense better have a good expert to counter this.
I wonder if George was in active heart disease prevention care and following medical directives. The daily requirement of heart medications are very expensive.
Nothing matters at this point. It’s political trial
He’d have possibly “stressed” himself to the grave there too if left unattended.
Just a speck of Fentanyl can kill you..just ask DMX he’s resting in peaces right now due to it
His family is keeping the 27 million, suckas.
“It’s a political trial.”
Exactly.
The persecutor wants a notch on his belt and the malcontents want some Just-Us rather than justice.
They’ll riot either way.
Some people have apparently been killed just by touching it.
The ChiComs been killing Americans by any number of means, haven’t they?
A 3rd degree conviction would be throwing a bone to the prosecution. They can claim victory. Will the city riot anyhow? I think so. It’s just that riots will influence the jury opinions.
No shit. That was obvious from the beginning.
Did this medical examiner get Booed by the Jury?
Because just being arrested for passing counterfeit currency isn't stressful all by itself, especially given his other comorbidities?

I may have missed something, but the coroner seemed to say the only evidence of asphyxia was the videos. The body showed no evidence AFAIK. Basing a case on video is pathetic. I watch videos for a living and they can be interpreted differently.
