Criticism from the left was rampant after Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves announced that their states are lifting mask mandates and opening businesses up to full capacity.
...
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasted Texas for lifting COVID restrictions on businesses and ending the mask mandate, saying such actions “endanger the entire country and beyond.”
...
Chiming in with a completely unwarranted take was California Governor Gavin Newsom who said states like Texas lifting COVID restrictions was “absolutely reckless.”

there never should of been restictions to begin with
And it’s a 1 of, doing what a 1 of does!

Once again, Florida has been for the most part open for quite some time and as I understand it South Dakota was never closed.
These people need to get a grip. American freedom is stronger than they thought.
They like the Border open to CV-2...
Not holding my breath though. I am expecting her to "split the Baby" and either leave masks but open up fully, or vice versa - no masks but limitations.
Pedo joe says it’s knee-ander-thal thinkin’. What tactic will they employ next to skerr the natives? Solar eclipse?
Agreed. NC won’t lift them because of our moron governor, but whether they do or not, there are stores I will never return to, like Best Buy. They were pigs to my husband because he can’t wear that thing. They were always overpriced anyway.
Thought I heard yesterday that Georgia was opening up. Bueller? Bueller?
We also have not had a mask mandate since last summer, individual businesses can impose one and some local governments have but DeSantis barred them from enforcing any mandate
Here is the fun part: Everywhere I go now when I see people wearing masks (I never do) I say to people, well, Texas is done with this nonsense and everyone else is soon to follow. And then I give a big Alfred E. Newman smile.
As far as I’m concerned, Texas and Miss. are the first big crack in the dam. It’s over. All the red states just needed someone with courage to start it. The Blue states will be shamed into doing it too. They’ll just have to find some “statistic” to give them an excuse.
We had a guy at work return recently after being out with COVID. He’s a big lib and before the election blamed COVID on Trump because “he didn’t take it seriously and didn’t do anything!”. What I wonder is what the masks and social distancing did to prevent him from getting COVID. If that BS worked, why did he get sick?
Yes. SD and FL always were. But Texas and Miss will give the rest the spine they need.
The lockdowns are as good as over. This summer the country will party like it’s 1999. But my tag line stands.
I don’t expect much from goovenair Henry since SC tends to follow NC.
Except there are die-hard Liberal idiots like Newsom, Wittmer, and Premier Jai Ins-Li of the Supreme Soviet of Washington who will never allow their grip on the slaves to be relaxed...ever.
You’re right about “Gas Tax Granny”. *hick* “I do declayuh.”
Well either COVID is going to take off or else it’s going to continue to decline. Time will tell.
Democrats always get upset when we free their slaves....................
Exactly right. The mere mention of freedom triggers Democrat fears of losing control over people.
